A nice new start

I spent over a week working on the PM R and it went into the garbage!  I couldn't get the rabbit right if my life depended on it.   So I got out Dolphin Splash by Pegasus.   I had been eyeing it for a long time and finally decided to do it and am enjoying it.

I got bad this week.  I bought 2 new pattern books, both by By the Bay.   But I bought them to do for Love Quilts also.   It is summer and I want to do summer scenes .   I'll just have to hold the 3 pieces until themes open up at Love Quilts or at Cole's Quilts.   I haven't done anything for Cole's Quilts for a few years.   We'll see.   I also ordered a lot of floss.  Since I don't drive it's hard to get out to Jo Anne's so sometimes I have to order on line.  Wellll......I can't just get floss when I order on line so of course I have to order patterns.   Makes perfect sense doesn't it.   Okay......Okay....any excuse.

Also this has been a bad week!   Sunday started out great!   A couple had their 50th Anniversary Open House and gave the money to the Food Pantry.  (They had requested money for food pantry in leu of gifts.)  We thought we would get maybe a couple hundred dollars $300 if we were really lucky.  We got a lot more than that.   I had spent about $500.00 on food and miscellaneous things for the Pantry, well that money was recooped plus some.   Then came Monday....one of the ladies called me to say she was quitting the Food Pantry because she felt she was a trouble maker.   But she wasn't.   I have to admit I read the signs and so did our Director and why she called me and not him I don't know.   After crying for awhile as she was a good friend and now she may stop going to our church I don't know when I'll see her again, in heaven...but I was upset for her for the way she was feeling.   I know she had problems with the politics of our church and the way we did things but still.  Plus she is a lot more emotional and sensitive than any of us ever thought I think.   Then Tuesday came and something else happend, Wed. brought more bad news pertaining to my aunt she is on Hospice Care now.   She is my mom's last surviving relative. (well she has cousins but her parents and other sister are gone.)

Tomorrow we were going to go to a picnic a couple from church have every year but I guess we aren't now.   For one thing I forgot to buy ingrediants to make anything for us to bring.  Plus mom isn't feeling up toe it anyway.

Last Sat. we went to 2 open houses.   One for the couple who had their 50th and the other for my cousins son who graduated from HS.   Since she came to everything we had, we thought we'd better go to hers.   It was nice seeing my dad's side of the family again.   I don't know why we don't try to get together more often we all get along real well and it's so much fun!

We are still waiting for my niece, Heather, to have her baby.  It was due this past Monday.  We thought we were kidding when we said Michelle and Heather would have a race as on their first child Heather delivered 5 days late and Michelle had her's 3 weeks early so we joked they would be born the same day.

Well....this has turned into a book, so until next time.....Happy Stitching!

Gardener Penguin is finished

I finally finished this earlier this afternoon.   It took longer than I expected but it was cute and fun to see her come to life.   It is for a Character Animals Quilt at Love Quilts.   That's the thing about Love quilts you do pieces you would otherwise never do and this is one of them.     Now I'm just doing a couple of small Precious Moments pieces from their Alphabet book.  The letter R for Ryan and the letter C for Cole.  It is a quilt some of us at 123 stitch are stitching for a family who lost two little boys in the tornadoes in Oklahoma a few week ago.

There isn't a whole lot going on just a lot of Open Houses and a picnic coming up in a couple of weeks so until next time Happy Stitching!

More Progress on Penguin

I haven't had a lot of time to stitch on this this past week but when I did I got a lot of progress.   I had really hoped to have it done by  now.   Maybe early next week.

This past week I spent a lot of time with the Food Pantry.   Note to self  don't order from Feeding America, Love Inc. and go shopping for food all the same week.   There's a lot of food to be put away.   There's only certain things we can get from Love Inc and Feeding America so we go shopping at Walmarts and Dollar Store.  We find the best deals at those two places.  It's good I go shopping with Sue as she prevents me from buying the more expensive stuff she knows how to look for the deals.  (Sue is the newest member of the Pantry Staff).   Although we are adding more.   They want two of us on each day which we really were suppose to be doing all along, plus add some men for Security and helping to stock shelves etc.   I did put a dent in what we had in our fund this week.   Hopefully some of it will come back in a couple from our church is having the 50th anniversary and in leu of gifts they requested people give money to the Food Pantry. Nice....we'll see how much comes in.

Tomorrow my mom and I are going to another Jewelery Party.  The lady booked the party from me and my niece is the  one selling the jewelery so we felt we better go.   June is always a busy month.  There isn't a Saturday that we don't have something to go to this year.

I had planned on doing laundry, mopping floors etc today.  But I'm so drained and it's so rainy and dreary outside I just feel like stitching!    Well until next time happy Stitching!

It drove me crzy that my last post posted the way it did so I'm retrying.  I'm just curious to see how this one will post.   Until next time Happy Stitching.

For Those Who Serve

Sine today is Memoirial Day I thought I would post this picture..   I did this for my nephew shortly after he was shot in Iraq when the war first began.     This was a kit by Jannlynn .  I did this and the Liberty Bell for him and he loved them.  Let's not forgwet the sacrifices of our Service People on this Memorial Day.

Have a Happy and safe Memorial Day.     Until next time Happy Stitching!

A Fun start

I said my next piece would be a fun and funny piece.   It's called Gardener Penguin.  I'm doing it for a Character Animals Quilt being doing at Love Quilts.   Now that the head is in on the penguin I think the rest of the piece will go quickly.

I think the sun is finally trying to sneak through the clouds.   I thought today was going to be a nicer day out than it was.   But the rest of the weekend is suppose to be great.  At least there was no rain today so those camping this weekend are having a good weekend.  Tomorrow our Sunday School Class is going to have their class outside to be different, so hopefully it won't rain, it's not suppose to.

I haven't mentioned my cat , Whiskers in a while.   He's still doing really good for his old age.   He loves to get on my lap and curl up especially in the afternoons.  I love it as at 18 1/2 I really don't know how much longer I'll have him.

Today is my niece's husband birthday.   So if you read this , Michelle, say happy birthday to Scott.   They are camping for the weekend.   She was wondering how she would do sleeping on the ground in a tent being 34 weeks pregnant.  That will be interesting.   They live in CO.   They also have a 20 month old little boy.  They have already had him skiing which he loves, and canoeing which he tolerates.  He's following in his parents footsteps being an outdoor person.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

Finallty Finished

I finally finished this piece today.  Of all the Precious Moments pieces I've done this was the most boring and tedious.   It took me forever.   I can't wait to start my next piece tomorrow.  It is a funny piece and going to be fun to do.  It's a whimsical penguin.
I am determined to start doing pieces from books I have here rather than buy new books this year.   I think I did buy a couple of new projects and did the one (The Birds and Flowers).  But now I don't even want to buy any for Love Quilts or to do as gifts, I'll chose from my stash.
I hope all of you that are in the areas of the storms are safe.  You are in my prayers.   My brother is getting delarious from all the storms, he could swear a cow went flying by his house and he wanted it to land in his yard so he could have steak.   Of course he was being funny.   He said all the years he's been in St. Louis area this is first year he's seen tornadoes, and none like this year.
It's been a rainy few days here but we are north of the storm so we didn't get them just the rain.  Nuts, I love a thunderstorm at night.   It's been cool too, but tomorrow is suppose to  warm up and even hit 80's this Sunday.  It'll be a nice weekend.
Well until next time Happy Stitching!

So Why am I Stitching This?

I knew those hearts would give me fits.   I knew there would be some improvising so why did I choose the most tedius and boring PM piece I've ever done.   Because it seemed perfect for the little girl.  Her story touched me.   That's not easy to do.  I think the rest of the way will be smooth sailing and I really think I'll have it done middle of next week.  I have my next 2 projects all picked out.  I'm getting anxious to start something new I've never had a PM take so long.

I think our cooling spell is over (it lasted over a week), we are now enjoying some warmer weather   It may be rainy at times but oh well....I love good storms at night.

Tomorrow my sister will be in town for a few hours.  So we'll probably play our favorite games, Mexican Train Dominoes and Push Rummey.   I doubt we'll do any shopping.   She's basically on this side of the state to see her daughter and family so she's spending most of the time with them but tomorrow they had made plans not knowing she was coming so she's coming here.   After all when you promise your 3 year old daughter you are taking her to a dance recital you take her!   We think Addie will be in all her glory and be dancing the rest of day tomorrow.   She gets to take Dance Lessons in the fall as she's old enough now.

Well until next time....Happy Stitching!

Some Progress on Precious Moments piece.

I haven't had a lot of time to stitch this past week.  It's just been one of those weeks.

Last Sat. I was doing my laundry at my brother's when we got a call saying my second dad, , died a few hours earlier.   He was in an accident with his wife Friday afternoon but it was a minor accident and so he went home.   That night he started bleeding in the head so he took him to the hospital where he died.   They are not sure if the accident caused his death or a pre existing condition.   He was 84 and had a bad heart.  .  His first wife Katherine, is the one I was close to.   She died of Alzheimres and a blood clot a few years ago.  Katherine and Bill became my second parents years and years ago when I was a young child and they were home on furlough from India.   After his current wife's first husband died I started praying Bill and Ruth would get together and they did.  For a few years Bill lived right across the parking lot from me, but after Bill and Ruth married, he moved to Ruth's house.   I saw him a few times after that.   The last time I saw hime was at the funeral of another long time friend.  He gave me the biggest hug he  had in years.    I wonder if he knew back then he would die so soon.   They say he had a preomonition so maybe, but like I said he was 84.   I have missed Katherine and will miss Bill.   I will always be greatful for the role they had in my life and for the  example they set to so many of us.

Because Bill's funeral was Wed. I didn't make it to our last BSF session this year.   It''s a sharing session anyway but is usually good.   Next fall we will be studying from the book of Acts.   That will be interesting.
Wonder if a lot of the history of the church will come with that.

Well.....until next time Happy Stitching!

My "second dad"

I met Katherine and Bill in 1961.   I was a young girl and they were missionaries to India home on furlough.   We struck a great friendship that lasted  for many years.   They were my 2nd mom and dad.     Katherine and I were expecially close.   Katherine died in 2004 of Alzheimers and a blood clot.   Bill  lived across the parking lot from me so we kept that bound although had drifted apart.   The last time I saw Bill was at a funeral of another life long friend and he had given me the biggest hug.  One I hadn't had from him in years.
Through all the years we knew Katherine and Bill they were great examples for us to follow.   Always putting the Lord first and they never quit serving the Lord.
I could go on and on so many good times, so many pranks, so much laughter.   I'm sure Katherine and Bill are sourounded by children  in heaven as they were on earth.   Katherine and Bill loved children but were never able to have any.   I also wonder if Bill is being allowed to pull some of his pranks up in heaven.   He loved to pull them on earth.   I'll always grin when I think of that mischievious grin he would get when he was about to pull a prank or successfully pulled one or his hearty laughter at things.   He will be missed.   But it's not Goodbye to Katherine and Bill or so many in Katherine's family but it's See you in heaven!

Precious Moments Start

Not sure why the shaddow happened, maybe the scanner is getting old.   Anyway this  is called "You Have Touched so many Hearts."   I had to do this for little Lola.   Her story really touched me and it was sort of sad how her parents had to leave the Mission Field because of her illness.   Hopefully she and they will be able to return some day.   It will be sort of a tedious and borning stitch but PM's are really cute.   I think I've done about 25 of them down through the years.   And I signed up for a PM Princess one to do after this one.

Busy day lies ahead.   A friend and I are going shopping for the Food Pantry.   We want to get some things that are hard to get from Feeding America and Love Inc.   At one time it looked like we had an overflowing pantry now it's emptying out and we have the money so there's no reason we can't build the stock back up.   We are amazed at how God has come through for us.  He seems to make sure we can replenish the food once we start getting really low.     Sue is really good at finding the good deals to make the money stretch even further.   Me?  I'm one who.  unfortunately grabs what catches my eye and worry about the price later.   I shouldn't be that way.  We akso have discovered evidence of unwanted guests in the pantry so we are going to get some tubs to put the sugar, flower, and anything else that draws those little critters to food in.

I went to the dentist yesterday, got my teeth cleaned and only have one cavity.  I was surprised the problem I'm having with my jaw is not a dental problem.  Here I convinced myself I had lock jaw, or at least a bad infection in my gums, but nope.   I also was blaming it on to the vertigo problem.   Oh well....I go to the ENT Monday and then Thurs. have an asthma check with my regular dr and say something about the jaw then I guess.   Man!   It's no fun to grow old.   My mom says I have arthritis in the jaw.   Well....why not, I have it in the shoulder, hip and ankle so why not shoulder too?

Later today I'll go to see my brother.   Actually do my washing there and spend time with their dog, Autumn.   Autumn is my special pal.  Makes my cat a little jealous but oh well..

Well....I better go until next time Happy Stitching!

Happy Dance It is Finished!

I finally finished this piece!   I enjoyed doing it but it is really not a piece I would normally select.  That's the thing about Love Quilts though, You find yourself doing pieces you would never do otherwise!   Anyway I am happy to have it done!   Now unto the flowers for a coule of days anyway.  Well maybe I'll finish the Wildflowers.   I mislaid the book!  Grrrr    Hate it when I do that!

Tomorrow our little Addie turns 3!   She's growing too fast and is now a sweet little girl.  Still insistent she is having a brother in June.   We;'ll see.  For her sake we hope so.

Until next time!   Happy Stitching!

It's almost done

Hopefully I will have this done on Sat.   Then I'll go back to the Wild Flowers at least for a dady or two.  There is a child at Love Quilts having Precious Moments or Angels as theme of their quilt, so I want to do a square for that one. I just have to look and see what type of angels people are stitching as I have a couple of cute cherub books I'ld love to do a piece from.  Otherwise I have lost of PM books.  While I do enjoy stitching this piece.  It is sort of a fun one, it just isn't one I would normally pick out to do.  It will go on a Western Quilt at Love Quilts..  I made a lot of progress on this this past week.

It's been a fairly quiet week so not much to say.  We had  a birthday get together for our mom's birthday last Sat.   It was a fun and noisy morning.  Johnny, Addie, and Katelyn can make a lot of noise!   But they are so cute.   Addie will be 3 this Sunday so I better get her card in the mail!  I met to mail it out today and forgot to!

Until next time Happy Stitching!

A week's Progress

Hello everyone!  Happy Good Friday!   It was on Good Friday 27 years ago my nephew Jake was born only that day was Apr. 1.    It's a little rainy today but it will clear out, and I think Spring will finally be coming to stay!   It's about time as it is getting to the end of Apr.
The next few days will be busy.   My sister will be in town today and tomorrow.   Today we'll do some shopping and play Mexican Dominoes and Push Rummy later.   We love those two games and whenever my sister is in town we have to play them.   Tomorrow my brother and sister in law is having us over for brunch to celebrate mom's birthday.  She will be 78 on Tues.   So two of my nieces  and maybe a nephew will join us for that.  Can't wait to see Johnny, Katelyn, and Addie again!   Addie will be 3 May 1.  Can't believe it.  She is still very ademant that her mother will have a baby brother for her in June.   We're not quite sure how she'll respond if Heather has a girl.   But like I said to Kay when she was expecting Bryan Michelle and Heather then 6 and 8 were determined to have a sister.   When Kay wasn't looking they would put their doll clothes on Bryan to make people think he was a girl!   Fortunately they didn't harm Bryan he turned out to be pure boy and today is happily married with a 3 month old son who looks an awful lot like he did.
I have gotten quite a bit of work done on this piece.   It goes fast when I work on it.   Now you can see what it looks like.   I think it will go to a Western Quilt later.   I seer it more Western then Music and Dance.   Another lady said she would fill my second spot on Taylor's quilt.   I already had the Treble Clef on it that I did last August.
This week really has been a rough week with my Vertigo.   In fact I really have been nausiated a lot.  I finally got my ENT appointment moved up, and then did end up going to the Dr. on Tues. as I was trying to work in the Food Pantry at church and it was awful.   I ended up leaving early and seeing the Dr. later, he gave me a different prescription that helps a little bit.   Still not gone but at least I can function.  l  just have to be careful and lay down a lot is all.

Last weekend we had our first Easter Egg Roll at church.  Because of rain and my vertigo acting up so bad I didn't get to go, but I heard a lot of good reports and they were very happy with the success of it.  It'll be something they'll do every year.   I also think just on Trunk or Treat the nieghbors are going to be asking the church to do it.     Have a great Easter Weekend!   I love this time of year.   Easter really is my favorite Holiday as we celebrate the death and ressurection of Christ and have hope and peace in Him!

Need Opinions Please and be Honest

Okay here is my dilema.   I said I would fill in for Love Quilts to do a Music Square.   Had the pattern all picked out and laid it aside and can't find it.  In my search for my music pattern books (which I only found 2 or 3 of the 6 or 7 I have) I found this piece and thought "it's easy, cute" I'[ll do it for Taylor."  So away I went stitching.   It's going fast as you can see as I started it 24 hours ago.  So this is only about 5 hours of stitching.   Anyway, the further I get the more convinced I am that this is not Taylor.  No I don't know her but it just doesn't seem Taylor to me, and it says more for a Western quilt square.  I have 3 options 1) to go to another piece Stoney Creek which is all I have outside the one I want to find.  Which will take a while, and I am struggling with Vertigo so hard to stitch long periods of time.  2) just keep stitching this one and hope it's okay  3) there is someone who might be willing to stitch a second square, I might just ask her to do one.   It'll be her 2nd square for Taylor but this is my second square for her to.  Treble Clef I did last summer is going on her quilt.   What would you do?  I love doing this piece, and will keep at it.  Then I'll go back to the flowers maybe, or find another music piece.

Like I said I am really struggling with Vertigo.  It's so frustrating.  In fact it's been so obvious that people at church really notice it bad and have helped me out a lot.   I had hoped to wortk at the Easter Egg Roll tomorrow but doesn't look like I can now.   Maybe next year.   Someone did give my dad a suggestion that worked for their mother in law, the dr. had told her to do taking Vitams B, C, & E for 10 days, taking less every 3 days.   Anyone ever try this?  Anyone with Vertigo have any suggestions.   It is the lightheadedness I'm having problems with not the dizziness.

   Well, until next time.....Happy Stitching!

Easter Finish

I just finished this piece not too long ago.   I loved doing this piece and it provided a nice break from Wild Flowers which I will go back to doing tomorrow.  This will probably go to a young girl at Love Quilts who chose Christian as theme of her quilt.

I rhink I passed the instpection today for my yearly rent.  This is the first time they have done an instpection for this.   It's to see if there are any damages, and if there is then I'll have to pay for them .   Hopefully they didn't find anything.  I did tell them this is first time this particular inspection was ever done and they said they realized that I wasn't the first person to tell them.   We'll see.  They have a major nspection being done by the city and the state coming up so they want to take care of what they can ahead of time.   Thji is there first year of going through this and last year we had all different people in the office so this team is very nervous.  Good as that may work for them.  This place is pretty good about keeping up on reapirs though so I don't think they have much to worry about.

This Sauturday we are having an Easter Egg Roll for the neighborhood children at church.   It should be fun.   The children will hunt for eggs and then come inside to hear the True Easter Story.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

A New Start

I laid the Wild Flowers to do this piece.  With Easter coming around the corner and we celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ I wanted to do this piece, and I may try to find another Easter piece too.   I love the Easter Season.   It's my favorite.  I love the colors in this piece.   It's not quite half done, but I started it only yesterday so you can see it's going really fast.

Today is a beautiful day outside, in the 60';s and we're loving it!   Tomorrow is suppose to be 80 in land, us a little cooler but severe storms are coming in too.   Of course they will be at night.  I love night storms.  When we were young my sister and I would shriek with delight at the thunder and just giglle as we lay in our bed.  Awww the memories.

Tomorrow after church we are having lunch with my brother and his wife.  They said they just felt like having mom dad and I over.   I work at the Resource Center after church tomrrow but that only takes a few minutes.

Well --until next time   Happy Stitching!

Isn't it Beautiful?

I didn't fall off the wagon as when I stitch it it'll go to my sister-in=law.   She took me out to Jo Anne's and I saw this pattern couldn't refuse it.   I have since looked at the pattern, it's not going to be an easy stitch.   I did tell Beth I would do it for her, no guarantees when it would be done.
    Well, until next time....Happy stitching!

Slowly but Surely

I don't have that much more left.   Hopefully by end of next week it will be done providing I don't decide to add more to the bottom.  I lvoe this piece it is so pretty.   I'm just anxious to get it done and do something else..
Today seems to be a descent day with the Vertigo.  It's not acting up as bad as it has been.   Good as I won't be able to see the ENT until mid June.   That's a long time to put up with Vertigo.   Although last time I put up with it 3 or 4 months.
It seems so nice to have the spring weather popping in.   I know they say this will be a rough year for allergies and I'm feeling it.   I finally got an Air Purifier to help and surprise it helps a lot.   What took me so long.   Actually my sister bought it for me for Christnas at the suggestion  of one of our sister in laws.
Thank you for reading my blog honest this piece will be finished some day!   Until next time Happy Stitching!

Slowly but surely it is getting there

I don't thik I'll get this done by Apr. 1 like I had hoped but oh well.     It is slowly getting there though

My stitching time and  time on the computer has been limited.   I am having major problems with Vertigo again.   So I am sleeping a lot as I was told that was the best thing I can do.   I have found when I am really light-headed and lay down, when I get back up I am better for a couple of hours.   I am not going to let this go on for months like I did last time.l   If I'm not better by end of week I'm going to at least call the Dr. for an appointment.   I don't like going through the exercises he does but they do help.

Thank you to everyone who has been ready my blogs and leaving comments.   I really appreciate them.   They are really encouraging.

Lots of Stitching-Lots more Progress

I've done a whole lot of stitching the past few days and got the big yellow flower in and decided to do the purple flower after all.   I'm just hoping that didn't put me over the 9 inches across.   By my measurements it's barely 9 inches but I can't get it all on the scanner so I don't know. Hopefully it is just barely over 9 inches.
Hopefully this will be done early next week.   I love stitching on it but am anxious to have it done.   Then I want to do a couple of  Easter pieces.

Well....our nice weather has come to a temporary end.   Rest of today and tomorrow are suppose to be nasty with sleet and ice and snow.   It's going to be upper 30's the next several days.  It is still March.  We won't have spring to stay until mid April at least.  If we are lucky early April.

Until next time Happy Stitching.

A week's progress

I didn't get quite as much done on this as I wanted  there are some slow spots to it but I'm still enjoying it.   The  stems do go a little further to the right but I'll catch them next week.   The only thing I don't like about this piece is it is spread out over several pages  but it's working out fine.

Today my niece, Melissa is 30.   She was the one who got my very first Cross Stitch piece that I actually finished.   It was a birth sampler and to this day she still has it.   In fact about a year ago she asked her mom to take it out of the frame and make it into a quilt with some pieces her mom  made for her when she was a baby.   It really turned out nice.

Tomorrow my great nephew, Ashton, turns 8.   We are going rollar skating.   I have not rollar skated in years and the verdict is still out if I will try it again.   I use to love to rollar skate so in a way I want to.  We'll see.    I need to get him a birthday card.

We are enjoying our spring like weather.   It's been 40's, 50's here.   Next week is back to 30's but it is still March.   And 30's aren't that awful.   I just can't wait for mid April and then spring might be here to stay.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

Almost twice as far!

I absolutely love this piece.   I think in 5 days I've gotten twice as far on this.   It's coming together really well.  Since there are no half stitchings and no backstitching to speak of it is moving fast.

The sun is shiniing bright today hopefully will melt more of the snow.  Slowly but surely the snow is melting.
I know spring isn't great for those of us with allergies, but I still love Spring.  Everything is so fresh and new.

So far I think the Food Pantry transition is going fine.   Clif hasn't met with us yet but Tuesday him and I will meet and then he'll meet with all of us.   There were some things I asked him to discuss in the meeting.   Right now we have a well stocked food pantry.   I used some of our grant money for Feeding America and plus put in a food order from Love Inc.   Love Inc always goes above and beyond what we ask for.   We really appreciate them.    I just love how our food pantry is looking.   Everyone has worked so hard on it.

I am praying for those of you in Japan and those of you who are under the Sunami watch.   I can't even imagine what the people are going through.

I want to thank everyone for reading my blog and making comments.   I really appreciate it.   I've even noticed I'm getting more followers.   So I welcome you and thank you for following my blog.

Wildflowers Progress

I love stitching on this piece and it is going fairly well.   I can't wait to get even further along and get some of the pink flowers in.    I am having to cut the size down to meet the Love Quilts 9x9 guidelines so cutting off points are sort of hard to determine.   It is such a pretty piece though I absolutely love stitching it.

Today is a nice sunshiny day.  The snow is once again starting to melt.  This is the time of the year where we have nice days then nasty days.   But on other hand we really don't want the snow to melt too quickly or we will have a flooding problem and beleive me this year a lot of snow means flooding.  Fortunately this part of the country doesn't have a big flooding problem.  It just seems nice after a long winter, to see little signs of spring start to come in.

I'm sorry but I have to tell this story about my 4 year old great nephew, Johnny.   I'm an animal lover but I laughed so hard when I read it on his father's face book page.   It was a conversation they had at their kitchen table yesterday afternoon.   Johnny:  Daddy, when I get big  may I have a gun to shoot some birds?"
John:  What kind of bird, chicken?, turkey?"   Johnny:   "No that goose on the lake (they live on a lake).  John  "But what if she has babies.   You don't want to leave the babies without a mommy do you? "   Johnny:  "Okay....I'll just shoot one of her babies then!"   That little stinker!   Out of the mouth of babes!

Well on that note....Until next time......Happy Stitching!

A New Start

I am really thinking spring.   And I enjoy doing this piece.   It will be so pretty when done.  It is Wildflowers by Larnette.   It will be smaller than the actual piece to meet the Love Quilts requirements.   But this is how much I have done in just 10 hours of stitching.   Yes I am going to love doing this piece/

I know I said I'd post the winners of my drawing Monday night or Tuesday morning.   Sorry it's Tuesday night.   I did get hold of the two winners last night and sent the patterns out today.   Congratulations to Dawn (Golden Angel Works) who won the Laughter of Angels and  Kim (Ride the range) who won the Cat Nap piece.   I hope you two enjoy stitching them.

I am so happy!  I passed the Safe Serve Course I had to take for the Food Pantry.   Because my dad's computer is slow it took two hours to get through it all..   And only about 15 minutes of it pertained to us as we do not serve prepared meals nor do we have a refrigerator.   We just give out non perishables.   But since it was required I grudgingly took it and sat through the two hours.   That means I am now Certified and we can stay on with Feeding America.   We are still waiting to hear if we get any money fromn a  Dance-A-Thon that was held last week-end.

Today my great niece, Katelyn turned 1.   They had a party for her on Saturday but because I was still sick from  a cold I didn't go.   I did see the pictures on facebook and it looks like she had fun.

Well....until next time Happy Stitching!

PM Japan is finished

YES!!!!!IT IS FINISHED AND YES I AM SHOUTING!  I am so happy to have this piece done./  Parts of it was okay.   But other parts.....oh.hhhhhhh boy!   So much frogging!  The backstitching didn't even bother me I really enjoyed that as you can see the piece be more real and come to life.   I may be willing to do other pieces from this book but not Japan again.

Now I have kitted up my next piece.   It is Wildflowers and so pretty.

Tomorrow night or Tuesday morning I will draw names for my giveaway so you have through tomorrow to enter if you want.

I ve had this stupid cold all week and I'm sick of it.   I'm actually starting to believe my sinuses will never be clear again.   Both my sister and I have had sinus problems the last few months and we totally blame our parents we inherited their sinus problems!   Oh well.....I know I don't have it as bad as my mom though.

Well....until next time Happy Stitching

Blog Giveaway

I usually don't do these things no do I usually enter them but I'm going to have a blog giveaway.   I barely went through myo stash and found these two that I will never be able to stitch because of my eyes.  I can't stand that so thought I would offer them as a Giveaway to someone who will stitch them.   One is The Laughter of Angels by Design Connection and the other is An Afternoon Nap by Brucilla.  The laughter of angerls didn't  scan too well sorry.     You don't have to be a follower of my blog to enter.   I hate it when people say first follow my blog then post a comment.  That to me is just begging for followers.   I will ask you to post to this and tell me which one you would like.   I will draw names Monday, Feb. 28.   Check back Monday night I will post who wins and how to send me your snail mail address.    Until next time Happy Stitching!

Finally it's Moving Faster

I know the picture is a little crooked there.   I knew once I got the head, hair and the mountain and building done the piece would move quicker.  It just took close to two weeks to get the mountain and building in.  I kept having to frog.   As you can see there is a lot of detail to this piece.  Even for a Precious Moments piece a lot of detail.

I didn't go to BSF today.   I seem to have caught a nasty cold fast and furious plus I had such a sore throat and headache I just said forget it I'm not going anywhere.

We didn get a lot of snow Sunday.  I think we gained almost all that had melted.   Took a week to melt but came back in a few hours.  Unfair.   It's melting some again now.   It's that time of year we will get snow but we will have more nice days, especially once March gets under way.

We have to have someone certified to work in our Food Pantry if we want to stay with Feeding America.   I tried yesterday to take the test, and for 3 hours we tried accessing it and couldn't do it.   So just called it a day.   I came home and found several messages on my computer so when I try to take the test, The access key was on my conmputer, that really would have helped!Thursday or Friday I should have an easier time of getting in. Yesterday I was trying from my dad's house on his computer and it just was not cooperating at all.  My mom says "Now you know why I won't touch a
computer."   She may be the smart one.l

Well, until next time Happy Stitching.  I'm going to read some more blogs.  I'm trying to catch up.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

It's been a busy week but I did get some progress done on the Japaneese Ptecious Moments piece.    Good thing I don't mind backstitching as there is an awful lot of backstitching to this piece.

My sister came to town a few days ago.   We played some games one day and went shopping the next.   I was so disappointed my favorite clothing store went out of business at the mall.   Oh well......

Saturday we had a clothing giveaway at church.   We got lots and lots of clothes but didn't have a whole lot of people come.  We really didn't know what to expect.   The organizer was satisfied with the turn out though,   I think if we could have gotten to our church sign and posted it plus if it would have been spring , summer, or fall, we would have had more people come.

We are finally getting the warmer temperatures!   It is so exciting to see the icicles melting off the deck and see the snow slowly melt away.   We still have lots on the ground but it's coming down

The Food Pantry is going great.   We have received a grant that we never expected and will use it to buy more food from Feeding America.    I will be stepping down as cordinator.   I've been having a lot of problems with one of the workers who would love to take over the pantry and run it.  Without going into details the last two weeks were horrible she was leaving nasty notes questioning things she shouldn't have, telling the other two ladies to do things I had not wanted done and was against church policy.  Finally I had had it and after talking to two of our Pastors we decdided to finally put a man in that will not put up with Deb.   We realize we are mixing oil and water and we are proceeding with caution.   But I've been wanting to have Clif take over for 6 months now and we finally decdided now was the time and Deb will just have to deal with it or quit.   I'm feeling I'm doing what is best for the food pantry, and best for church.  I will remain on the staff, and still do all the ordering and be the assistant so my role won't change much I just won't get the hassles any more.

Well Happy Valentines Day and until next time Happy Stitching!

PM Japan Progress

I picked this piece back up to do yesterday.   I'm hoping the worst part is done now.   Usually on Precious Moments pieces once the hair and face are done the rest goes quickly and easier.   We;'ll see.  There is an awful lof of back stitching to this one.   Oh well....
Well we survived the Blizzard of 2011.   Now it's nice and sunny and beautiful to look out at.   the next 3 days are suppose to be upper 20's  or even 30 then we go back into the deep freeze again.

Tomorrow I'm having a Jewelery Party at my mom's.   I'm not too excited about it.  I only invited about 4 or 5 people as my mom's apartment isn't big at all.   My niece sells the jewelry and wanted me to do it, so I'm doing it to help her out.   I just hope a couple people show up.   If not oh well....

Well until next time.....Happy Stitching!

Birds and Flowers are finished

I loved doing this piece.   It is so pretty.  It will go to Love Quilts Charlotte's Kids Birds quilt.   This is one of my all time favorite pieces I think.  It even stitched up easily.   Oh, there was some frogging and I ran out of thread from the kit because of the frogging but I enjoyed the piece so much it didn't bother me.   That is one thing I don't like about kits, they really should send more threads with the piece than they do.

We got caught by the Blizzard of 2011.   We got about 14 inches so far and doubt we'll get much more than that  as the worse is over.   We were warned this was coming.  Anyone who wasn't prepared it was their own fault.   We had a lot of snow on the ground to begin with so adding 14 inches is a lot.   My deck is about buried I think and I can't even open the door to knock off the icicles.  Oh well.....I get a thrill out of watching ice melt anyway.   Whiskers is very unamused by it, he just goes to the bedroom and sleeps in his corner or on my bed.   I will admit I didn't expect there to be so many closings, I expected schools but not businesses or factories.   Even our county buildings are closed.  Garbage isn't being picked up and even the city buses are not running!   It's bad but we can handle it.  We are not alone.  I just hope everyone stays safe and warm.

Well....until next time  Happy Stitching!

Progress on Birds on Flowers

I absolutely love working on this piece.   It is so pretty I think and makes me think spring!   Even if we are covered with snow outside and the icicles are so thick outside the windows!  Spring will come!

Tomorrow my Great Niece, Chelsea will be 2 years old.  So if her parents see this Happy Birthday to Chelsea.   Otherwise she will get her card and I'll say something on her parents facebook page tomorrow.

Until next time  Happy Stitching

Birds and Flowers

I just love doing this piece.   It is so pretty and makes me think Spring!    It will go to Love Quilts Bird quilt for girls.

It's snowing again today.  I heard on the News that this is the Global Warning affect.   We are on the cold snowy end of it.   Sounds like much of the nation is.  I just want it to be spring.

Anyone else having a problem getting the new children at Love Quilts to download for them.  I can get the ones through March but not the ones Apr. -July.   It's frustrating me.  I've been trying for two weeks now.  Than I posted on their message baord and someone posts "You need to go to LQ's homepage.:"  Dknow that I've been doing that for 2 weeks and it's not working!    Someone said they would e mail me the current themes. We'll see.

Well, until next time....Happy Stitching!

Sandcastles is finished!

I finished this earlier today.   I really did enjoy stitching this.  I love doing beach scenes.   This will go to Love Quilts.   They are doing a quilt called "A Walk on the Beach."  for future child.   I just am not real happy with the stitching on this, to me it looks sloppy.   I don't know.  Now I will go back to the Japan piece for a few days anyway.   I made a mistake on it so am going to have to frog quite a bit which makes me unhappy but oh well....

It has been cold and snowy the last few  So far we are not getting our January thull.   In fact for a while I couldn't open my deck window to get the icicles, now I finally can but they still are pretty long.   I get a thrill out of watching them melt.   Next week is suppose to warm up so I guess I'll have a big thrill then.  LOL.

Not much has happened to write about since I last posted so until next time.....Happy Stitching!

Progress on Sandcastles

Even though  I am itching to start the bird and flower piece I have decided to just sticdk to this until it is completed which should be by the end of the week.   I have enjoyed this but there is so much light brown  in it.   But that part is almost done.

Today is my sister's birthday so Happy Birthday Kay.   I don't think she reads this blog much I don't even know if she knows it exists to be honest.   Her and her husband had a couple days off together (a rarity) so they decided to go skiing for a couple of days.

We are in the midst of a very cold week.   Today was nice but was warmest day we'll have for a little while.   Not enough to melt those stupid icicles!   Oh well.....

I can't believe we are over half done with Jan. already.   I love it when Feb. gets here as Feb is such a short month  and has some days of  sun.   And then March the snow starts to melt some.   Plus I love the fact the days are getting longer.

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

And Yet another New Start

Like I said yesterday I started yet another piece.   This is Sandcastles by Sudbury House.   I am doing this for Love Quilts.   The title of the quilt is A Walk at the Beach   so it's anything pertaining to the beach.  I thought this piece was cute.  Usually I do lighthouses but decided to do something different this time.
Thank you for your responses to the bird piece I posted yesterday.   I do recognize the name of the company now, I just knew it by the American Name.   I can't wait to start on that piece.

It is very winter like here.   We are getting a lot of snow like most of the country.   The icicles on my deck were so big and fat, I finally managed to get the sliding window open today so I could knock down what I could anyway.   At least I can look out and not see icicles reaching all the way down now.

This weekend some friends are coming in from out of state to be at our church.  They just returned from a short term (1 year) missions trip to Mexico and are now going to be full time missionaries.  Since they grew up in the church I don't think they'll have a problem  getting support from us

Well...until next time Happy Stitching!

Who is the Designer

This was one of 3 kits I ordered from The Stitchery and received today.  I cannot wait to get it started but I'm not sure who designer is since it seems to be from a foreign country.  Fortunately the pattern is easy to follow and the floss is very easy to figure out.  By what I can tell the designer is Verachtert .  I've never heard of them.     I can't wait to start stitching it though it is so pretty I think

I am turning into a serial starter I think.   As I started a 3rd new projecct the other day called Sandcastles by Sudbury.   It's almost half done so I may just finish it out before I start this one.  I'll  post tomorrow what I have done on it.

Until tomorrow.....Happy Stitching.

Let It Snow, Let it Snow, Let It Snow

We have had a lot of snow fall the last couple of days.   It's suppose to let up tonight but hit the counties south of us hard.   It was beautiful to look out at.  Today was a good day just to stay in and stitch!
Yes, I started another new piece.   I found this in March issue of Cross-Stitch & Needlework.  I received it the other day and wish I had time to do the whole sampler but I never would finish it so decided to do smaller pieces from it.   It is a Victorian sampler and while I do very few victorian pieces I really do like them.   So it's different from what I usually stitch but I like to break away from that.   I will go back to the PM piece.   But I also know I have 4 pieces coming next week, and all 4 I am going to want to do immediately.   I must have AHDS or whatever they call it as nothing is holding my attention.
  Well....until next time   Happy Stitching

PM Start

It doesn't look like much yet but this will be a Japaneese Girl from Precious Moments All Around the Worl.d book.   I am doing it for Chross Stitchers for Charity.   I'm not liking the needle so it's slowing me down.  I ordered 3 packs of the needles I do like but they won't be here until next week.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them.   This is the shortened version of a long story.   I kept getting these bills from my former phone co that said - so many dollars.  I would call them and they would always say "That is how much we owe you, you overpaid."  So fine.   Finally just before Christmas I get another bill and call them and ask what is going on?   She apologized and said that is what we owe you you don't pay us we'll get the refund check out to you and again apologized for it taking so long.  So okay, about a week later I get the check so I'm think good this whole ordeal is over I'm done with that company and threw everything away.  Bad move....Monday morning I get a call from a Bill Collector telling me it got turned over to him because I ignored all their attempts etc.   I told him the whole story and told him I had the refund check.  He was baffled by it.  I gave him the number of the check, (fortunately I hadn't cashed the check and will wait now).  In end he said he would look into the whole matter and get back to me in 35-40 days.   He also said he sent me a letter, I still haven't received it so neither one of us could figure that out either.   He was real nice about it and understood my anger and confusion.   Never will I use that company again.   Oh I called the phone company later and was real nice as I knew the person I was talking to wasn't responsible.  He had no idea as to what happened sent me to financial services, they had no idea what happened and tried to return me to billing.   When I told her billing sent me to her she says "oh shute!" and we both started laughing.  So I have a very bad impression of them believe me.  Not the people I talked to but the whole system as a whole is something to be desired!

After making the calls I was so upset I ordered 2 patterns from 123 stitch plus the needles and some material, and sent a check.  Good on my part.   But next day I ordered 3 items with my credit card from The Stitchery which I seldom do but I just couldn't resist them.  Can't wait to get them and get to stitching them.

We are getting a lot of snow these days.   We had a fairly mild Dec. although we did get a White Christmas, January is catching up to us!

Now the best for last..    Last night Wyatt James was born to my nephew and his wife.   We are so excited.   In the end Chrissy was just miserable the last 3 weeks.   Then yesterday they sent her home from work.   She called Bryan and went to hospital and they admitted her.   My sister thought they would be in for a long night but actually the baby came soon after that.  He was born at 7pm.   So now I have 13 great nieces and nephews with 2 more on the way!

Well until next time.....Happy stitching

Last update on 3 Kings

Happy New Year!   I hope everyone has a great New Year.

It only got half way done but I''m not working on it until December now.   I don't do Christmas except in Dec.    I had wanted to take a picture of it but I have to buy a piece for the disc as it's so small before I can upload it unto my computer.

This morning I started Precious Moments Japan piece from PM Around the world book.  It is for Cross Stitchers for Charity.
\    Yesterday we had our family Christmas at least those that were there.   Tim came but Wendy and Tabi didn't feel up to it.  (Wendy's mother was buried yesterday her funeral was Thurs. and it finally started hitting Wendy her mother was gone.)  Johnny and Addie stole the show and Katelyn was so precious.   Next year she'll be running around with Johnny and Addie.   We had a White Elephant Exchange which was fun.
It was a noisy fun afternoon though.

Until next time Happy Stitching!

Progress on Three Kings

I've made quite a bit of progress on this piece the last 3 days.   I had hoped to finish this piece by Jan. 1 but I  seriously doubt that will happen.   Depending on how far I get and if the thread holds out I will finish it early Jan.  I'll make that decision Dec. 31 and see where I'm at.    If I'm close to finish I'll finish it out.   If not I may get it out on UFO weekend.   I am doing this on Oppascent material using Gentle Arts Hycyth thread.  The more I think of it I think I'm going to have my sister frame the Baby Jesus piece and let her grand daughter, Addie have it next year.   She has this thing about Baby Jesus.   She just loves singing Happy Birthday and is completely convinced her baby brother will be baby Jesus.  She is only 2, and no one says she's having a baby brother.   Her parents don't want to know if the baby is a boy or gir until the birth in June.

How was everyone's Christmas.   Ours  was very quiet, just mom, dad and me.   Wendy's mom died that day.   She had been ill all month and the last couple of days it was obvious she wasn't going to make it.   In a way we are glad it happened this year and Wendy can move on into 2011.  This year alone Wendy's step dad who raised her, her step mom, her grandfather and 2 or 3 other relatives died so it's been a rough year for Wendy and Tim.     Her funeral is tomorrow afternoon

Friday is our family Christmas.  We are having a White Elephant exchange for that.   I need to wrap that pressent, plus, Ashton's, Johnny's, Addie's, and Katelyn's gifts.   I'm hoping I find Tim and Andrews, since I can't find them.   I'm hoping I sent them home with Wendy to wrap that day we went shopping before her mother went bad.   I do have Wendy's gift card here.

Well....Until next time Happy Stitching!

Merry Christmas

How  appropriate finish this piece on Christmas Day.   I loved this piece when someome first posted in their room at Cyber Stitchers.   I e mailed her and asked her where she found it and she e mailed me the information.   I started it as soon as I bought the book and went great until the second angel and the second half of the hay.  I frogged so many times.   It still isn't perfect but I just improvised.
Said as long as I have the shape right I won't care if I get a color wrong here and there.   I just wanted to finish it.   I still love this piece.   It's what  Christmas is all about.  Even 2 year old Addie has been singing Happy Birthday to Jesus all month long.   And since she is going to have a baby brother or sister later this year in her young ming she thought she would ask for Baby Jesus for Christmas she understood that can't happen though.

I
l'll be going to my parents house in about an hour and we'll unwrap our gifts and have dinner than.  Our big Christmas is this Friday with rest of family.

Merry Christmas everyone!  Until next time Happy Stitching!

A New Christmas Start

Two or three years ago I did Winter Village and Bethlehem.   I bought the Three Kings pattern the same time but didn't start it until the other day.   (Yes I will finish Baby Jesus, but I ran into a problem there so  am just doing a little a day or it would go in the garbage.   While I have made progress not enough to post.   Actually I'm waiting until it's finished to post it.  I   know I scanned the piece crooked!
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.   Christmas Day itself will be very quiet as I'll just go to my parents and it'll be just the 3 of us I think.   I have a problem this year.   I couldn't find the gift cards I got my great nieces and nephews, finally found them and they are in mail probably they'll get them Monday or Tuesday.   Now I can't find the Christmas present I got my brother, Tim, or his son, Andrew.   I'm hoping I gave them to Tim's wife and she took them home with her to wrap.   Our family Christmas itself will be next Friday.   My sister-in-law, Beth bought me a cake pan (as I lost mine at a church picnic) so I can make my 7 layer bars for it.
She's tied up these days as her mother is not doing well at all so she's been at the hospital with her virtually day and night.   So I haven't been able to ask Wendy.  We really feel bad for Wendy as this year she lost 3 very close family members and 2 others who were pretty close now it's touch and go with her mom.  The other night they called the family in as they didn't think she would make it through the night.   She's holding her own but she's on a respirator and no Nursing Home in town will take her because of the Respirator so she will either have to go to Chicago or hopefully one of the Hospitals here in town has a long term unit, hopefully they will have a bed open up for her very soon.
Until Next time Happy Stitching    and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone

Baby Jesus

Remember this one?   I think each Christmas I have worked on it a little since I started this blog in 2006,   I will finish it this year.  I've done a lot of frogging on this one and I think I will be improving a little bit in one area as I can't figure out where the mistake is.

It looks like we we will have a White Christmas this year.   We are getrting the snow and it's not going to be warm enoough to melt.   Speaking of Christmas.....I better get my Christmas cards out.   I hate doing that!  Each year I vow I'm going to do a little at a time but I always wait until the last minute.

I am done with Physical Therapy now.   I'm not saying the pain is gone but it is much more tolerable than what it was.

Well I'll keep trhis post short.   Until next time....Happy Stitching

Gentle Moment-Finished!

I really stitched like crazy the last couple of days to get this done tonight.   I was really anxious to do a Christmas piece.   I really did enjoy stitching on this piece.
Friday was a busy day for me.   Starting with the cat scan.   It went well, I was scared for nothing.  I don't know the results yet but sure it turned out fine.   Then had Physical Therapy the afternoon.  This week will probably be my last week of it as my shoulder is responding well to it and while there is pain not nearly as much as there was.  So I'll just maintain the therapy on my own I think.
Friday night we had a birthday party for Johnny who turned 4 on Sat.   Yes, that baby 4 years ago I blogged was coming and announced his birth is already 4.   He's a smart little dickens too.   Just too cute.   He's 4 going on 10 I think.   Of course he was all hyper and excited at his party.
We got hit by the winter storm somewhat but not nearly as much as most areas did.   It snowed a lot late Sun. morning as we got out of church then a couple hours later cleared out.   But boy is it cooooooold out!
We had Christmas on the Lake Shore at church over the weekend.   Everyone did great and there was a good attendance at all 3 of the services.   I think the best part was the children but it was good.
    Well...until next time Happy Stitching!

Its Beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Yes, we are getting hit by the snowstorm but not as bas as some areas.   We will get heavy snow for about 20 minutes than it's just flurries.   We do have probably about 6 inches on the ground, maybe more.   I just hope my nephew and his wife make it back to Chicago area safely, it's suppose to be worse as you head in that direction.  Chrissy is about 8 months pregnant due the end of Dec. first of Jan.

Also my niece and her husband and baby son are flying back to CO today.   Michelle, Scott, and Nick flew up for a 4 day weekend.   We went to another niece's Friday to see them.   It was so much fun.   Nick is starting to talk a little and has now mastered the art of walking.   Addie just loved seeing her cousin Nick and wanted him to stay with her.   Addie and Nick were so entertaining!   I wish we could see them more!

I have made some progress on Gentle Moments.   Today was the most I worked on it in the last 10 days put together.   And the rest of this week is filling up so won't have much more time to work on it this week.  Good thing I like to backstitch as there is a lot of backstitching on this!
One of these days things will slow down.

Last week Christmas came to our Food Pantry.   Someone from another church called and said they had a Food Drive in November and they gave half the food to the Rescue Mission and we could have the other half.   Of course we accepted it.  So one of the ladies met with them Monday and got the food downstairs.   Tuesday another lady and I came in and were shocked by all the food.  So a couple of our Pastors brought the food into the Pantry and we started putting some of it away.   The men of our church had been concearned about the shelves we do have sagging and afraid they would collapse so they bought us 6 Gorrilla Shelves.   They put 3 up last week and 3 more will be put up Wednesday.   So that gives us a lot more room for the food and so much nicer than what we had.     Usage of the Food Pantry has picked up a lot too.   Last week we had 12 families sent to us which is more than we usually get in a month.   So we are just hoping and praying our food holds out.   We may have to get an emergency supply of food from Love Inc.   We are now open 4 days aweek and added 2 ladies to the crew.  Plus our Youth Pastor is going to be the Director, I'll report to him.   He also will be our contact with Love Inc.   I think things will go much better now we made that move.   We were really having problems with one of the ladies causing problems between Love Inc and she was trying to take over the Pantry so we basically reduced her role.   I half expect her to quit on us as she is unhappy with us on that move.

This weekend is Chrisstmas on the Lakeshore at church.   This time I'm just going and enjoying it on Sat. I've worked hard on other things our church has had this one I wanted to sit out and enjoy.   The church is all decorated for it.

We also have Johnny's birthday party Friday night to go to. He is 4 years old now.   Remember 4 years ago on Dec. 11 I was posting saying we expected him any moment.   Boy those 4 years have gone fast.   He is now a big brother.   Actually we think he is going on 11.  LOL as he is so advanced for his age.

Well, before this turns into a book I will say until next time.....Happy Stitching!

Progress on Gentle Moment

I haven't had a whole lot of time to stitch this past week.   I think I did more today than I have this whole week put together.   But it's coming along and moving fairly fast for a Stoney Creek piece.
I started Physical Therapy on my shoulder and hip yesterday.   Yesterday was just more or less an introductory section.   They also noticed my left side was weak (which I always knew that but I thought everyone had a weaker side so never thought about it.)  So they want to strengthen that too.   They are going to ask for 12 sessions in 4 weeks but most likely will get 8 sessions to start and if needed may get an extension.   Next week being a holiday week I only go on Tuesday.
The week after next we will open the Food Pantry 4 days a week to see how that goes.   A couple of other ladies were willing to help with it.   The one just joined our church and she asked to work in Food Pantry.   Come to find out she has a lot of experience, I may just learn from her.
Anyone have special plans for Thanksgiving?   We are going on other side of state to my sister's house for a couple of days.   We'll hopefully ride with my niece and her husband and little girl (if there is room in their car.)  Which we think there will be as we will pack real light.  I doubt I will take my stitching as there will not be room in the car plus between Addie and my sister's dog I don't think either one of them will let me stitch even if I did find time.   Addie is going to own me and I will love it!
     Well.....until next time....Happy stitching.
