I Received My Thread

I got the Valdani Thread in mail Friday afternoon and immediately picked Winter Silhouette back up. I only have to finish the house I'm doing, do one more house and a couple of trees and another star and it will be finished. Oh yea the land to those houses and trees too. I hope to be done with the piece on Tuesday. We'll see.
I so enjoy doing this piece. I plan to do Autumn Harvest in Burnt Ornge (Gentle Arts) and Bethlehem in the near future. I'll do Autumn Harvest real soon. All are by Diane Arthur. I love doing these pieces. She also has 3 Kings and Snowmen which i I'll get those two next year and do them.

Thank you to everyone who reads my blog and have made comments to it. I really appreciate them. I love going to all the different blogs (obviously look at how long my blog roll is!)LOL, and seeing the different pieces everyone is doing.

Anyone have any ideas as to what I could have done to my parents TV? I went to change the channel (they were gone I was there to keep the dog company) and got static. When my parents got home I told them what happened and they tried everything. They just got static and also the TV seems to be froze on one channel, I must have locked it somehow. They didn't figure it out yesterday and today my brother is there. So far I haven't heard that he was able to fix it either. I absolutely hate remotes and I am never touching a remote again!

Well, until next time. Happy Stitching

This is coming out really beautiful. Keep it up I wanna see this finishes. I also can not wait to see the accompany pieces done too.

I am not sure what to tell you about the remote issue.... never heard of that happening.

That is still a beautiful pattern. I love the thread you are using.

As far as the remote goes, how many remotes do your parents have? Do they have one for the television and one for the cable/satellite box and one for the DVD player? Sometimes the cable/satellite box is hooked up to ONLY one television channel (usually 3 or 4). To change the channel you SHOULD NOT use the television remote, but instead should use the cable/satellite remote. If you moved the television from 3, then the set will probably show static unless your parents have an aerial for the television set alone.

The only other possibility is that your parents live in Wilmington, North Carolina. The entire region moved to digital broadcast, so none of the regular over the air channels you can get with only an aerial will work. The television stations are now broadcasting a digital signal and you will need a digital signal converter box to translate the over the air signals to something an old non-digital television can receive. Even if your parents are not in the Wilmington area, most of the rest of the country will move to digital signals in February. Lots of old televisions will stop working then.

Did you try unplugging the TV, and plugging it back in? The only reason I say this is I turned on my TV this morning. I went to change the channel and the picture wouldn't come up... no sound, no nothing. I shut it off and then unplugged it for about 10 seconds. Then plugged it back in, and everything was fine again.

Thank you for your comments. As far as the solution to the TV. My brothers did try unplugging the tv I think (at least I told my mom to have them do it when I saw her yesterday. What ended up happening is they just unplugged the added cable box. Mom couldn't get a couple of channels any more so got it from Cable TV but that seemed to be where the problem was so they are just going to return the box and go without the two channels. The TV is working fine now.

Beautiful!

I was going to say to try to hit the cable button or the tv button on the remote as sometimes I (or one of the kids) hit a combination of buttons and it freaks the television and cable out completely. Glad they figured out what the problem was somewhat quickly.
