Start #4

Only this will count as #2 towards the 10 challenge. I think I explained all that earlier. I would like to stitch from at least 10 books that I haven't stitched from before I even think about getting any more leaflets. The picture is a little dark but it's useable. I need to get an extension plug for my scanner since getting DSL I don't have a spot to plug in my scanner.

This Pigeon Point Lighthouse piece will go to Cross Stitchers for Charity for a Lighthouse quilt we are doing. It's going pretty well. I've stitched on it for about `10 hours now. There is a lot of backstitching to it. Typical of Stoney Creek, yes, another Stoney Creek piece! Man people are going to think I only do animal or scenery pieces. I have to do a horse piece, but I may take a break and do a couple of other things in between that are not scenery or animal related. I also want to pick up Wild Menagerie sometime in Aug and Sept while the sun is still bright and the lighting is good.

Today is my nephew Bryans 23rd birthday. I'd wish him a Happy Birthday but he doesn't have a blog and doesn't come here. Besides he needs a new computer and doesn't have Internet Access right now. New Sat. I think (Aug. 4) is my brother's birthday. We have several birthdays (including mine) coming up soon plus 1 anniversary all in Aug. Aug. and Dec. are the big birthday months in our family!
My blog roll is growing. I keep finding more and more blogs I like. Only on some I have problems making comments. So some of you like, Jenn, I can't make a comment as that security block comes out, even though I click yes, then just click it off it pops right back up. Some blogs I can click it off and it won't pop back up. Oh well...

Tomorrow is our church picnic. I'll make a caserole tomorrow for it. I have almost 3 hours free between church and going to the picnic I'll make it then. I do need to go do my dishes right now. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Surprise! The Tigers are Finshed!

Did I say Sunday I wanted to finish these? They are done now! I worked hard on them today. I have the Lighthouse all kitted up to start tomorrow! These Tigers were so much fun to do but I'm glad I'm done with them. This is I think 4th piece towards 25. Since I have stitched from the book before I can't count it in the 10. See I decided either 10 projects from books I have not stitched from or 25 pieces altogether which ever comes first. Now the Lighthouse and the Horse after that can count towards the 10.

There is a lot going on in our family right now I can't talk about. Things look a little better than they did earlier this week but it's one day at a time. Plus something else happened, I'll know more on that next week, then I might say something.

It's suppose to rain tonight and tomorrow! We need it so bad. I love thunderstorms especially at night. Unfortunately my dad golfs on Fridays. But this week he will be golfing on Sat. anyway only that is for CLBC.

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

One last Update on Tigers

This piece is pressing towards the finish line! The second baby is going in much easier than the first one did, but the first one is larger too. I hope to have it finished end of the week. Perhaps Sunday even. Then I will finally do the Lighthouse I've been planning to do "next" all summer. I still am working a little on Johnny's birth sampler but not a lot. That piece is so boring it's not calling my name at all.

Did you notice I changed the template. I decided I was tirred of the other one so went with this one for now. In the fall I'll change again. This one still has a summer feel to it.

Sunday is our church picnic. I already have everything ready I'm going to make for it. So will do it Saturday. We are also getting ready for the crusade in August. (The week of my birthday LOL!) They always seem to have special meetings around that time of year.

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Question of week

Which project (finished or in progress) are you most proud of & why? I had a hard time really deciding on this one as there are several I really like a lot. Especially in the scenery ones as most of them do look so much like the actual spots. I finally decided on this Waterfall piece. I loved stitching it years ago and you can almost see and feel the water streaming over the falls. I just love it.

Update on Tigers

This is progress on Tigers as of this morning after about 38 hours of stitching.
It's coming slow as it is so detailed, but I really am enjoying it. On the side I am doing the Birth Announcement for baby Johnny. That one is so easy it's boring so the two go good together side by side.

Oh I saw an interesting question on a message board and thought I would ask it here. How many life times would it take you to stitch all you wanted in your stash? My answer is at least 3 but then those life times I would buy more stash so my answer would be forever.

Well there isn't much happening right now. I basically just wanted to post an update on the Tigers. The first baby is just starting to come in now.

Start to Tigers

First, I want to say Thank you for your comments to Navajo Land. They meant a lot to me. This piece has now gone off in the mail.

This is my progress on Tigers after 16 hours of stitching. It's a little slow going and took a while to look like a Tiger but I think you can tell the Mother Tiger is coming to shape. The two babies will come in later. I've also started Johnny's Birth Announcment. It's part of the Winnie the Pooh wall hanging. Instead of flowers in the corner I may put a bee. I'll see Melissa Sat. and ask her what she thinks. She didn't want flowers as that's too girlish and I agree.

This has been a sad week for our area. Last Sunday morning a young Police Officer was shot and killed in the line of duty. He was setting up a perimeter to deal with the man who was holding his family hostage, the man shot and killed the officer. A couple weeks earlier the same Officer had arrested this man for spouse abuse. The funeral for the Officer is tomorrow. I didn't know him, some friends of mine knew the family and was friends with them. He left behind a 3 year old daughter, along his parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and fiancee. Several funds are being set up for her. They were saying different places Police Officers were coming in from. Some are coming in from Scotland for his funderal tomorrow. An officer hadn't been shot and killed in this area in 20 years.

Friday and Saturday the Teens at church are having their annual yard sale. I sent a couple of things over for them to sell but I'm not going to make it to the sale this year. Oh well..... Just too much going on right now.

My mom, brother, nephew and their dog are on the other side of the state right now. Tim and Andrew are camping. Mom and Autumn are staying at my sister's. They will be going in and out of the campground. I didn't go for 3 reasons. One I don't do well at campgrounds, the campfires, grills etc. get to me. There is too much construction, Tim would be kicking me out of the car. Plus there really wouldn't be much room in the car for me. Especially since they would be taking Autumns pen. Maverick would never allow Autumn to be loose in the car and he be in his pen. Autumn and Maverick are good buddies and so funny. Maverick has a huge back yard to run in which Autumn loves and is a treat for her. Maverick tries to get Autumn to chase him, she does but she does have to take shortcuts to keep up with him. They are so funny.

The problems with my computer are now gone. We just installed a good Anti Virus and that really took care of the pop ups etc.

There isn't much else happening so until next time Happy Stitching!

Navajo Land Monument Valley is now finished. This is picture of it. It looks better in the picture than it does in person believe me. This will go to a Native American quilt we are doing at Cross Stitching for Charity.

My mom brother, and nephew all went to other side of state. Tim and Andrew are going to be camping and mom will stay at our sister's. Kay and Mom will be at the camp ground off and on. Today is a nice day for them as it is hot but tomorrow is suppose to be stormy.

I am having some problems with my computer I am so unhappy about and it's a frustration! I will be calling someone tonight to have them come look at it this week. I have a feeling I am going to be unloading all my programs and reinstalling them. Great fun!

Until next time Happy Stitching!

I don't really know what is happening. For some reason I can't type in the Title bar. I had wanted to say One Last Update on Navajo Land. As you can see it's pretty close to being finished. Probably will be done Monday. That will be great. Then I'll start the Tigers for a girl who chose Jungle Animals for her quilt.

It is getting warm out again. I'm in my air conditioning as possible. I watched Parent Trap. I had hoped to see Parent Trap II for some reason I'm not finding it, oh well, I'll return the DVD to my Mom and we'll watch it at her house later. It is her DVD. Come to think of it, I did get 3 DVD's this week I haven't watched maybe I'll put one of them in as soon as I am done here.

Have you ever decided you were sick of eating the same food all the time? I have. So today when I went shopping I bought a lot of things I normally don't eat. Especially fruit and Mexican Food. I hope the Mexican Food isn't too hard on my system. I've been having a lot of problems with my Acid Reflux, and I think it's my Gall Bladder acting up. You seem to get heart burn a lot when you have Gall Stones. I have the option to get an ultra sound but just haven't done it yet. Anyway I hope I like this food, I sure bought enough of it!

This Wed. our church is starting a Bilingual Bible Club for 4 weeks. I was asked to work in it, but said no. For one thing I'm not bilingual. Now if they find they are really short of help then I might do it the remaining 3 weeks. I am going to work in Adventure Club again this year. I got asked Thursday night. Correction---I got told Thursday night I was working in it. That's okay, I have done it for 10 years and I really like working with the kids.

Well we'll see if this gets posted without a title I still can't type it in.

Finally A Finish!

I laid Navajo Land down for a few days to finish this piece off as it really needs to go off into the mail. I'm like under the wire on this square. It's going to a quilt we are doing for a little girl who has been ill off and on the last couple of years.

Thank you for your comments to Navajo Land. I have appreciated them and will be going back to it tomorrow. Hopefully I'll finish it up early next week we'll see.

Anyone have special plans for tomorrow? I'm going to my parents house, my mom and I are going to watch Yankee Doodle Dandy like we always do on 4th of July. We also are doing some shopping at a couple of stores. Wonder if I could hit Jo Ann or Hobby Lobby? Maybe they will have a good sale for 4th of July?

Well until next time Happy Stitching and Happy 4 th of July!
