New Family Member

We received big news in our family yesterday. My niece Michelle, finally married her long time boyfriend, Scott. Scott fit into our family right from the start so everyone is very happy. Michelle always said she was not going to have a big wedding. She saw it as a waste of money and did not want the attention the bride gets, so they got married very quietly out west where they live. They didn't even invite their parents or brothers and sisters. My sister said they are just happy the two finally got married and they always knew this was how Michelle would do it so they weren't disappointed. You have to know, Michelle is a very quiet, shy, reserved, private, person, and not for being in the limelight. So this was her ideal wedding. So I'm going to be looking for a wedding piece to do. Probably will let them pick the pattern when they come home this summer. There's no way I can start it before Aug.

It's been a busy time with our parents moving yesterday but they are all moved in, now they are trying to unpack and find everything. Well...I had dog duty, my job was to keep Autumn away from the guys as they moved things in. Her and I went on so many walks yesterday. She is adjusting well to the apartment. She loves seeing all the people and the other dogs. Deciding who will be her friend and who won't. There are an awful lot of dogs in the complex. There was a day animals were not allowed in rental properties, not anymore. I'm glad, as I have my cat! We did a pretty good job yesterday but there is still a lot to do. This week we are getting ready for the yard sale Thurs-Sat. My sister is coming in Tues. to help mark everything and be there the first day. Then she has to leave Fri. morning.

I stumbled and twisted my ankle yesterday so it's really hurting. I'm just getting old. I've had so many problems with my asthma and reflux disease. I'm almost convinced my gallbladder is acting up. I have to be very careful what I eat. I'm hoping it's not that. I'm finally going to break down and call the Dr. for an apt. Hey, this is a good way to loose weight.

I have started my piece for the Virginia Tech. One of two I will be doing anyway. It's a portion of a larger piece from America's Best Loved Hymns called Shall We Gather at the River. I'm just doing part of the picture. This is progress after about 18 hours of stitching this past week.

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Congratulations to your niece! I wish my family was that understanding - I'd get married tomorrow if they didn't expect a big wedding! It sounds like everything went well with moving your parents - hopefully they'll settle in quickly. I hope you feel better soon, too!

Congratulations to your niece Barb :o)

What a nice idea with the stitching. Are they making a quilt with it?

I hope your ankle feels better soon. Unfortunately the older we get, the long it takes us to heal.

How exciting - a new family member. Great that they finally tied the knot and wonderful that they did it "their way".
Good luck with the rest of your parents' move. I'm sure you'll have fun at the yard sale.
Your piece for Virginia Tech looks good.

Congratulations on the new family member, that's wonderful he fits in so well. Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well lately, and then to hurt your ankle on top of it. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Your new piece is looking lovely, hopefully you'll have time to sit and stitch it and rest your ankle.
