Noah & the Gang

I laid down the Zinnias as I saw I wasn't going to have them done by the date they needed it. The little girl just is not doing well so they wanted all the squares by May 5 so the quilter could quilt it and get it to her. Emmie is only 8 and her parents were told there was nothing more that could be done for her, just keep her comfortable. The Zinnias will go to another little girl in Emmie's honor.

I picked Noah and the Gang back up and decided to just work on it until it was done. It really isn't going as fast as I thought it would but I do enjoy it. It's typical of Sue Hillis Designs, a little difficult and tricky at times and I have a hard time clealy reading the color key. But they are cute and fun to stitch.

Tonight is Carnival night at Adventure Club. It is our last meeting for the summer and we always have a Carnival for the kids. Something they look forward to all year. It'll be a very noisy but fun night.

My niece hasn't had her baby yet. She was due last Sat. If she doesn't have the baby by this Sat. she will be induced, but that still doesn't guarantee a baby although we hope she has it by then if not then. I said if the baby wasn't born on mom's birthday then it had to have a May birthday as that was one of 2 months we didn't have any birthdays in our family.

Thank you for making comments to my blog I enjoy them. I love reading everyone's blogs and that is what I'm going to do from here.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

A New Start

I love doing this piece. It is so pretty. I intended it to go to Emmie at Love Quilts but she became an emergency and they won't be done by May 5 so they will go to any child in honor of Emmie.

It's been a great week weather wise. But today will be the last day of our 70 degress. Tomorrow it goes back to reality 40's and 50's for a few days which is more seasonal.

Tomorrow is my Mom's Birthday, Michelle's 1st wedding anniversary, and we hope Heather's baby will be born. It's her due date. So we are going to be hoping and praying all day tomorrow that baby comes. Heather said if the baby isn't here by May 3 they'll induce her. Hopefully it won't come to that. Today is Heather's last day of teaching for the year. She says if the baby isn't here she's going to do a lot of housecleaning next week. Maybe I should have her come here and clean my apartment. Heather is a spotless housekeeper. I'd rather stitch then clean house although my apartment isn't that bad and is easy to keep up with, just little things I neglect.

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Finally a Finish

I never thought I would finish this as I didn' enjoy it at all. But my mom and sister told me I had to finish it. They liked the piece. I don't know why I didn't enjoy it. I got to the point of just working on it an hour or two a day until I saw the finish in site and finished it off. This will go to Kate at Love Quilts who Chose Chrisitan as theme of her quilt. Now it's back to Love Isn't Love Until Given Away.

Whiskeres wants me off the computer-he's trying to get between me and the screen. so until next time Happy Stitching!

What? Earthquake felt in MI?

Oh yes! We do feel them once in a great while. This morning was no exception. My cat started getting hyper about 5:30. A few minutes later I felt small shaking and wondered. Got up a little later and turned on the news and Yep, there was an earthquake in S. IL and we felt the tremors here, some 300 miles or so from the epic center. There was no damage or anything around here.

I went to my sister's this past week and was gone 4 nights and days. It was great though. I even got some stash I'm so excited about. I can't wait to do them for Love Quilts. So I haven't fallen off the wagon yet! My mom and sister found a used book store next door to the LNS so they were happy too. I hadn't been to a LNS in years as we don't have any around here so I was extremely happy. I also spoiled my sister's dog as if he wasn't spoiled already.

Sunday we met my niece her husband and my nephew for breakfast, then we went to my nieces for a little bit and then went to her shower. They have pretty much everything they need for their baby now. Since no one knows the sex yet everything is pretty much generic. There were so many showers for her, some surprise ones, like our family had a shower and his family, where they work they had a shower. Both are teachers at the same school. Heather's Bible Study group gave her a surprise shower, and the kids in both of their class rooms gave them a surprise shower. That meant a lot to them. The kids put their money together and got them a real nice multipurpose playpen. From the shower by Brian's family we went to Kay's house. It was really a nice time.

Now I did take my stitching and got some accomplished on In the Garden, and Noah's Ark, but I left it at my sister's house with my meds, and a few other things, so my sister is going to mail them to me. Hopefully I'll get them Monday if she mails them today. When I got home from my sister's Whiskers greeted me at the door and basically I haven't been out of his site then. He's been taking in all the attention he can get.

I got out Love Isn't Love piece to do more work on it. I don't have my hoop but I have everything else so I will get progress done on it. This is progress as of this morning.

Well until next time, Happy Stitching!

Favorite finish of 2007

The stitching bloggers question of the week was What is your favorite finish of 2007? There were 3 or 4 that I really liked. Light Of Peace by Thomas Kinkaid, Tennis Anyone, (Kitten with tennis ball that was so cute), and Pigeon Point Lighthouse. But I chose Navajo Valley as my favorite finish. It just was so much fun to stitch and I really was pleased with it. People tell me it looks like the actual site. The piece went to Love Quilts.

I will be gone for a few days, so I'll hopefully have In the Garden done when I get back. I didn't get any comments on that piece. But it didn't bother me as I don't really like that piece. Now if I liked it I'd be whinning about it.

I so enjoy going to the different blogs. Sometimes I get jealous as their blogs are so nice and some people have a great way with words, and they get so many comments so I know I'm not alone in appreciating them. I do try to comment on blogs but sometimes I don't. I think lately I've spent more time reading blogs than stitching.

I have Noah's Ark all kitted up to start tomorrow so will get that going so I can do it in the car when traveling Sunday and Wed. I have so many pieces on my list to do between now and Aug. that I'm excited about and the two I have going aren't holding my interest. You ever have that happen? I would just go do them, except these two are commited to Love Quilts. I'm hoping Noah's Ark will excite me. Well, Until then Happy Stitching!

In The Garden

I started this about 10 days ago to take a break from Love Isn't Love.... For some reason it was hard to get into this piece. I'm still not enjoying it but it's going better now. I hope to have it done over the weekend. I'll start Noah's Ark on Saturday, kit it up tomorrow. This piece will go to a teenage girl at Love Quilts who chose Christian as theme of her quilt.

Sunday I'm going to my sister's house for a few days. We'll go to my niece's baby shower and then head to Kay's house. My brother and his girlfriend will be coming over every day to spend some time with my cat and make sure he has food water, and clean kitty litter. I always hate to leave Whiskers but he'll be fine he always is he knows I'll be back.

Once the Noah's Ark piece gets underway on Sat. it'll be an easy piece to do at my sister's and in the car. I'll take the Love Isn't Love piece too.

I signed up for two more Love Quilts children due Aug. 1. One had Flowers as theme of her quilt. The other day I bought a beautiful flower book, they were the perfect size for the LQ squares so I bought it for that purpose. So I haven't fallen off the wagon! The little boy chose Wild West so I'm doing half of Monument Valley by John Clayton for his. I'll do the half with the silouette horse on it. Boy I hope I didn't over commit myself. I need to get more serious about stitching. The last couple of weeks I've slacked off and read blogs instead.

I do enjoy reading all the blogs. I am amazed at how many different patterns there are and how few are really repeated on different blogs. Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Peaceful Thoughts

I loved doing this piece. I needed to take a break from In the Garden and the Horse piece. For some reason I just can't get into them, and need to take breaks. Oh well....as long as they are done by June 1, it'll be fine. This is finish #13 towards the 50 mark. Last year I had 21 done, then had to start over a couple of times since then. I guess you are suppose to have 50 done in a year, that will never happen. In fact I restarted last summer and at this rate it'll take a little over 2 years to hit 50. I'm doing good at not buying more patterns and using what I have. A strong desire to see my credit card shrink is great motivation not to buy any more patterns. I have enough material for now. In fact this piece was done on a scrap piece of material. I will have this made into a pillow and give it as a gift. I think it would be so pretty.

It is so nice out today. I opened my windows and letting the fresh air in. Dare I hope we have seen the last of the snow? Even if it is forecasted later this week but will not last as the high for that day will be upper 40's.

Ruth's funeral was large and beautiful. So many people were there. Plus something I had never seen done before and I'm not sure I could do it myself, they had a tape of songs she was singing. Ruth had recorded them for her funeral as a testimony of her faith.

Last Sunday was my niece's baby shower. It was small but fun. We don't have too many family members around here. Next Sunday his family is having one,so my mom and I are going to that one and then going to my sister's from there for a couple of days. It'll be nice just to get away.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!
