Noah & the Gang is Finished

I finished this piece earlier this afternoon. The french knots drove me crazy but other then that I enjoyed it. I now have 15 finishes toward the 50 mark. Not moving to fast am I. I started it late summer and only 15 done. Maybe in 2 years I'll have 50 done. Now this piece is done I'll go back to the Zinnia's tomorrow.

I got to see baby Addison on Tuesday. She was so little and so cute, so sweet. She barely cried while we were there. She's going to be one spoiled baby girl as she grows up if for no other than reason then my sister is going to dote on her grand daughter. She's wanted a grandchild for a while.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

The baby has arrived

My niece, Heather, had her baby at 9":30 PM May 1. Weighing in at 8lbs 11 oz. Addison Kay made her entrance into this world. We're all excited. Her middle name is after her Grandma, my sister, Kay. Kay and Ken made the trip to see the baby the next morning. Ken had to work at noon and Kay had to work that night. So they made a 4 hour round trip that morning.

Today Kay is coming in to town for the week. We have a busy week ahead. Tomorrow she's shampooing my carpet then mom's so then we'll probably do some shopping to get away from the fumes. Our brother, Tim, is moving into the same Apartment Complex I'm in so I am in between helping him. He'll call when he's ready for me to go back to the apartment. So Kay and I will be cleaning out his room at my parents house and turning it into Dad's office. Sometime during the week we'll go to Heather's to see the baby. Heather lives about 45 minutes from here. I have a Dentist Appointment Thursday. I hate going to the Dentist but I really need to I have a tooth acting up.

Friday I have to take my cat to the Vet to get his rabbies shot. I dread that. Although it's just a couple of blocks down the street, getting Whiskers into the carrier is going to be a chore. He's not going to like it. As it is I have it out and open and he goes by and closes the door. Those are just a few things we will do this week.

I've been stitching little by little on Noah & the Gang. It's slowed down quite a bit but I'm plugging away at it.

Question of the week was about heirloom pieces. There are several pieces I have done I hope will be heirlooms someday. This piece being one of them. I made about 20 years ago for my Grandmother and got it back when she died. I'm hoping one of mieces and nephews will want it some day.
Well, my Mom just called and said Tim and Wendy were loading up and getting ready to head over this way so I better go meet them.

Until next time, Happy Stitching!

Noah & the Gang

I laid down the Zinnias as I saw I wasn't going to have them done by the date they needed it. The little girl just is not doing well so they wanted all the squares by May 5 so the quilter could quilt it and get it to her. Emmie is only 8 and her parents were told there was nothing more that could be done for her, just keep her comfortable. The Zinnias will go to another little girl in Emmie's honor.

I picked Noah and the Gang back up and decided to just work on it until it was done. It really isn't going as fast as I thought it would but I do enjoy it. It's typical of Sue Hillis Designs, a little difficult and tricky at times and I have a hard time clealy reading the color key. But they are cute and fun to stitch.

Tonight is Carnival night at Adventure Club. It is our last meeting for the summer and we always have a Carnival for the kids. Something they look forward to all year. It'll be a very noisy but fun night.

My niece hasn't had her baby yet. She was due last Sat. If she doesn't have the baby by this Sat. she will be induced, but that still doesn't guarantee a baby although we hope she has it by then if not then. I said if the baby wasn't born on mom's birthday then it had to have a May birthday as that was one of 2 months we didn't have any birthdays in our family.

Thank you for making comments to my blog I enjoy them. I love reading everyone's blogs and that is what I'm going to do from here.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

A New Start

I love doing this piece. It is so pretty. I intended it to go to Emmie at Love Quilts but she became an emergency and they won't be done by May 5 so they will go to any child in honor of Emmie.

It's been a great week weather wise. But today will be the last day of our 70 degress. Tomorrow it goes back to reality 40's and 50's for a few days which is more seasonal.

Tomorrow is my Mom's Birthday, Michelle's 1st wedding anniversary, and we hope Heather's baby will be born. It's her due date. So we are going to be hoping and praying all day tomorrow that baby comes. Heather said if the baby isn't here by May 3 they'll induce her. Hopefully it won't come to that. Today is Heather's last day of teaching for the year. She says if the baby isn't here she's going to do a lot of housecleaning next week. Maybe I should have her come here and clean my apartment. Heather is a spotless housekeeper. I'd rather stitch then clean house although my apartment isn't that bad and is easy to keep up with, just little things I neglect.

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Finally a Finish

I never thought I would finish this as I didn' enjoy it at all. But my mom and sister told me I had to finish it. They liked the piece. I don't know why I didn't enjoy it. I got to the point of just working on it an hour or two a day until I saw the finish in site and finished it off. This will go to Kate at Love Quilts who Chose Chrisitan as theme of her quilt. Now it's back to Love Isn't Love Until Given Away.

Whiskeres wants me off the computer-he's trying to get between me and the screen. so until next time Happy Stitching!

What? Earthquake felt in MI?

Oh yes! We do feel them once in a great while. This morning was no exception. My cat started getting hyper about 5:30. A few minutes later I felt small shaking and wondered. Got up a little later and turned on the news and Yep, there was an earthquake in S. IL and we felt the tremors here, some 300 miles or so from the epic center. There was no damage or anything around here.

I went to my sister's this past week and was gone 4 nights and days. It was great though. I even got some stash I'm so excited about. I can't wait to do them for Love Quilts. So I haven't fallen off the wagon yet! My mom and sister found a used book store next door to the LNS so they were happy too. I hadn't been to a LNS in years as we don't have any around here so I was extremely happy. I also spoiled my sister's dog as if he wasn't spoiled already.

Sunday we met my niece her husband and my nephew for breakfast, then we went to my nieces for a little bit and then went to her shower. They have pretty much everything they need for their baby now. Since no one knows the sex yet everything is pretty much generic. There were so many showers for her, some surprise ones, like our family had a shower and his family, where they work they had a shower. Both are teachers at the same school. Heather's Bible Study group gave her a surprise shower, and the kids in both of their class rooms gave them a surprise shower. That meant a lot to them. The kids put their money together and got them a real nice multipurpose playpen. From the shower by Brian's family we went to Kay's house. It was really a nice time.

Now I did take my stitching and got some accomplished on In the Garden, and Noah's Ark, but I left it at my sister's house with my meds, and a few other things, so my sister is going to mail them to me. Hopefully I'll get them Monday if she mails them today. When I got home from my sister's Whiskers greeted me at the door and basically I haven't been out of his site then. He's been taking in all the attention he can get.

I got out Love Isn't Love piece to do more work on it. I don't have my hoop but I have everything else so I will get progress done on it. This is progress as of this morning.

Well until next time, Happy Stitching!

Favorite finish of 2007

The stitching bloggers question of the week was What is your favorite finish of 2007? There were 3 or 4 that I really liked. Light Of Peace by Thomas Kinkaid, Tennis Anyone, (Kitten with tennis ball that was so cute), and Pigeon Point Lighthouse. But I chose Navajo Valley as my favorite finish. It just was so much fun to stitch and I really was pleased with it. People tell me it looks like the actual site. The piece went to Love Quilts.

I will be gone for a few days, so I'll hopefully have In the Garden done when I get back. I didn't get any comments on that piece. But it didn't bother me as I don't really like that piece. Now if I liked it I'd be whinning about it.

I so enjoy going to the different blogs. Sometimes I get jealous as their blogs are so nice and some people have a great way with words, and they get so many comments so I know I'm not alone in appreciating them. I do try to comment on blogs but sometimes I don't. I think lately I've spent more time reading blogs than stitching.

I have Noah's Ark all kitted up to start tomorrow so will get that going so I can do it in the car when traveling Sunday and Wed. I have so many pieces on my list to do between now and Aug. that I'm excited about and the two I have going aren't holding my interest. You ever have that happen? I would just go do them, except these two are commited to Love Quilts. I'm hoping Noah's Ark will excite me. Well, Until then Happy Stitching!

In The Garden

I started this about 10 days ago to take a break from Love Isn't Love.... For some reason it was hard to get into this piece. I'm still not enjoying it but it's going better now. I hope to have it done over the weekend. I'll start Noah's Ark on Saturday, kit it up tomorrow. This piece will go to a teenage girl at Love Quilts who chose Christian as theme of her quilt.

Sunday I'm going to my sister's house for a few days. We'll go to my niece's baby shower and then head to Kay's house. My brother and his girlfriend will be coming over every day to spend some time with my cat and make sure he has food water, and clean kitty litter. I always hate to leave Whiskers but he'll be fine he always is he knows I'll be back.

Once the Noah's Ark piece gets underway on Sat. it'll be an easy piece to do at my sister's and in the car. I'll take the Love Isn't Love piece too.

I signed up for two more Love Quilts children due Aug. 1. One had Flowers as theme of her quilt. The other day I bought a beautiful flower book, they were the perfect size for the LQ squares so I bought it for that purpose. So I haven't fallen off the wagon! The little boy chose Wild West so I'm doing half of Monument Valley by John Clayton for his. I'll do the half with the silouette horse on it. Boy I hope I didn't over commit myself. I need to get more serious about stitching. The last couple of weeks I've slacked off and read blogs instead.

I do enjoy reading all the blogs. I am amazed at how many different patterns there are and how few are really repeated on different blogs. Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Peaceful Thoughts

I loved doing this piece. I needed to take a break from In the Garden and the Horse piece. For some reason I just can't get into them, and need to take breaks. Oh well....as long as they are done by June 1, it'll be fine. This is finish #13 towards the 50 mark. Last year I had 21 done, then had to start over a couple of times since then. I guess you are suppose to have 50 done in a year, that will never happen. In fact I restarted last summer and at this rate it'll take a little over 2 years to hit 50. I'm doing good at not buying more patterns and using what I have. A strong desire to see my credit card shrink is great motivation not to buy any more patterns. I have enough material for now. In fact this piece was done on a scrap piece of material. I will have this made into a pillow and give it as a gift. I think it would be so pretty.

It is so nice out today. I opened my windows and letting the fresh air in. Dare I hope we have seen the last of the snow? Even if it is forecasted later this week but will not last as the high for that day will be upper 40's.

Ruth's funeral was large and beautiful. So many people were there. Plus something I had never seen done before and I'm not sure I could do it myself, they had a tape of songs she was singing. Ruth had recorded them for her funeral as a testimony of her faith.

Last Sunday was my niece's baby shower. It was small but fun. We don't have too many family members around here. Next Sunday his family is having one,so my mom and I are going to that one and then going to my sister's from there for a couple of days. It'll be nice just to get away.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

Love Isn't Love Till You Give It Away

This is progress after 40 hours of stitching. It will go to Love Quilts Any Child Farm Quilt. I am enjoying this piece. Typical of Stoney Creek it is detailed and has a lot of backstitching but that doesn't bother me. It's from a very old Stoney Creek Book called "Love Spoken Here."

Dare I hope today will be our last day of 30's. Plus the sun will be out! Next few days will be 40's and a couple even 50's unless they change them as they are middle and end of the 7 day forecast.

An update on Ruth here. Her journey on earth is over. On Wed. March, 26, at 10:50 a.m.Ruth went to be with the Lord. Most of her family was with her, They had spent Tuesday night with her holding her hand, telling her they loved her, reading from the Bible and singing songs to her. She died with them singing her favorite hymn to her "How Great Thou Art." Beautiful homegoing for Ruth but so hard for her family.

Boy I hope our church looks better on Tuesday. I was there yesterday to work in the food pantry and it was a mess... Our windows desparately needed replaced and we also are getting air conditioning in our auditorium. The windows were so old that some would not shut all the way so it snowed inside. Plus we lost a lot of heat through those windows. So the windows are out with boards covering them and the basement is all full of the electrical supplies. I'm sure the workers are being asked not to be around on Tuesday. This funeral is going to be a big one. I guess it's at our church because she grew up there and her parents probably really wanted it. Ruth and John went to another really large church that they both worked at. Ruth as a teacher at the school and I'm not sure what John did. Plus people from their supporting churches will come and from their Mission Headquarters. Ruth and John were missionaries to Spain. She will be missed as she impacted a lot of lives.

Sunday we are having a Baby Shower for my niece, Heather. Her baby is due the end of April on our mom's birthday. So I say the baby has to be born either on mom's birthday or May 1. May 1 isn't too far from her due date. I said May as no one in our family has a birthday in May so we can have one.

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Ruth's Quilt

Here are a couple of pictures one is of backside of the quilt and the other is top side. The quilter at the point of the pictures had not put the waves in and it wasn't sewn together yet. But you have the idea what it looked like. It was beautiful and Ruth and John really liked it. The squares were done by different members of Cross Stitching for Charity. Barb (Barb's Stitches in my blog roll)and a friend of hers did the quilting and sewed the quilt together. It was beautiful. The waves hitting the Lighthouses aren't there but on the finished quilt really added to it. Everything blended together so well. And they got it done very quickly as we just didn't have a whole lot of time to get the quilt to Ruth as we don't know how much longer she'll live.

How was everyon'e Easter? Mine was nice and noisy. With all the kids around but it was fun. Of course my brother's dog thought he was King of the day as the kids chased him around outside and he loved it. He liked seeing everyone. This dog was rescued from a very abusive home. When my brother and sister-in-law first got him he just shook whenever he saw people and he was nothing but skin and bones. Now he greets people and has filled up. His days of being abused are long behind him.

I'm working on a farm square for Love Quilts Farm Quilt for any child. It's from an old Stoney Creek Book called Love Spoken Here. The piece is a horse in a barn being fed apples from a child and a couple of roosters eating seeds. Now the horse is done it should go quicker. It took forever to get the horse done. I'll post a picture in the next day or two.

Until next time Happy Stitching!

Patriotic Finish

I just finished this a few moments ago. It really was a quick stitch. I started it yesterday afternoon and finished it today. It only took about 6 hours to stitch.

It's been a very busy week around here with something going every day. In fact I was gone a little bit this morning and will leave again in about 20 minutes. I'm going with Ruth's mother to deliver her quilt. I better remember my camera so I can take pictures. It was done by ladies at Cross Stitchers for Charity. Which is where this Patriotic square will go. They wanted squares fit for a teenage girl so I thought this ws cute. The piece I wanted to do I started months ago and can't find it. Oh well....

We had a snow storm last night. We didn't get hit as hard as most areas but harder than what we were expecting. Here our snow was almost all gone. Thbis will melt over the next few days.

Anyone have plans for Eastser? I'm going to my brother's house. My parents are going out to eat and another brother will be with his girlfriend so Kevin and Beth asked me to their place. There will be lots of other people there but I get along with Beth's family really good so it'll be fine. I'll get to see Johnny.

We had two birthdays this past week, Melissa turned 27 and Ashton turned 5. Big birthday for the little guy and he was more interested in his new helicopter my brother got him than cake and ice cream. We made the mistake of giving him his presents first.

My brother is moving into an apartment in the same complex I'm in. I'll be able to bug him a lot. And in return I'll be walking his dog.

Well have a Happy Easter everyone and until next time Happy Stitching!

Precious Moments Finish

I finished this about an hour ago. It will go to Carly V. at Love Quilt. I love the color blue so chose this piece. Plus little girls do like Princesses. Carly chose Precious Moments as theme of her quilt.

Tomorrow our SS class is having a chilli cook off. The hostess is making the chilli but asked the rest of us to bring corn bread. Correction I have to make my 7 layer bars so I need to get them made later this afternoon or early tomorrow morning. We had a game day not to long ago and I had the nerve not to bring them so I have to bring them tomorrow. Glad everyone likes them. I'm not a big fan of them, they are too rich for me.

Remember my Lighthouse square I did a few months ago. That is being quilted up now. At one of my groupls I'm in they asked if anyone wanted a certain quilt. I said yes, I had a friend coming to the end of her cancer battle. She isn't getting that quilt but the ladies wanted her to have one of our own quilts. Three were coming to a close. Because Ruth grew up on shores of Lake Michigan I thought she'd like the Lighthouse quilt best. I knew Ruth from time she was born, her older brothers and sister were same age as my sister, brother, and I. She was same age as my youngest brother. Ruth and John were missionaries to Spain. They had to come home a couple of years ago as Ruth got diagnosed with cancer. She did go into remission and was able to return to Spain for about a year. Then last summer the cancer came back so they came back home, hoping to return to Spain in Dec. Unfortunately they have tried 3 different treatments and nothing worked. A couple of weeks ago they were going to start a fourth treatment but her lungs filled with fluid. Her cancer had spread to rib cage and liver. So there really isn't much hope for her which is heartbreaking. Her father has Parkinson's and her mother has been taking care of him. All of this is hard for her but she says everyone praying for her is holding her up she feels the prayers. The family has meant a lot to the people in our church for years. They would do anything for anyone and if a visitor came, they welcomed them into their home.
One of the group memembers (Cross Stitchers for Charity) and a friend of hers are finishing the quilt this week and will mail it to Ruth's parents hopefully Monday. The group wants her to have it by Easter. It was going to be mailed to me but Ruth isn't doing well, I felt it best just to have it go to her parents and have her mom deliver it. If Ruth is up to seeing me, I'll go with her. She's in a lot of pain right now. When the quilt is done, I'll post a picture of it here. I've seen a picture of the top of it and it's beautiful.
Now this PM piece is done I'm just going to do a small Patriotic piece, then possibly start another Endangered Younguns piece, or one of the other ones. Yesterday I went to the Dr. because of neck and head pain. The Dr. felt it was more from stitching too much and said to take a break. I informed him I had too many squares due to be able to take a break. So he said just move around every half hour then and stay on the motrin in you have to. He was more concearned about Hypertension on me as my blood pressure goes up and down and has been up, so he gave me a prescription for that. I don't know why I really have no tension that I can't deal with. Oh well...
Guess what our weather is getting better although they say we aren't done with the snow, most of it is melting. It's been 40's most of this week 50 today. Tomorrow will be upper 30's but we can deal with it. Spring is coming!

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Precious Moments Start

This is progress after 28 hours of stitching. I am doing this for a little girl at Love Quilts who has Precious Moments as theme of her quilt.

My sister was in town this past week. We did some shopping. Plus she chose a baby piece for me to do for her daughter Heather. The baby is due end of next month! In fact it's due on our mom's birthday. So I said either the baby can be born April 26 (due date) or May 1 as no one in our family has a birthday in May. I don't want her to go to far over as she has a really bad back. So guess what my next piece will be. I don't think I'm going to get the Owl done. I just have a head start for the next child that wants Realistic Birds. Besides the boy the owl was going to go to really wanted Eagles and Hawks and that is what came in for him so the Owl would be out of place.

I think spring might be coming. It's cold today in the 20's but sun is out so not bad. Tomorrow and Monday is 30's then a few days next week 40's before going back to 39. But we'll take it. We missed 2 big snow storms as we were just a little too far north for them. We felt bad for those who got it but didn't shed any tears that we didn't get it.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

The Lion is Finished

This is finish #11. I worked hard on it to get it done today. I'll put it in the mail Monday or Tuesday.

I can't believe the sun is out today and tomorrow is suppose to be 40's. Then back to 30's. Some snow in forecast but we'll deal with it.

Tonight we have our last night of Common Grounds until June. Because we are going to have a Blended/Temporary Service on Sundays starting March 30 we won't have Common Grounds every month. (We're going to have 2 services on Sunday mornings, 1 Blended Traditional and other Blended Temporary). I need to go back over my Missionary Story for tonight. I wrote out the script for the Bible Story tonight is a shorter one then usual but the Missionary Story is longer.

Next week my sister is coming back to town but it'll be her last time for awhile. Her daughter's baby is due end of April so she's saving her personal days for after the baby is born. This will be her first grand child so she's anxious.

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Didn't quite get it done

Hopefully it will be done tomorrow. I've been spending entirely too much time on this piece. I'm a little disappointed it didn't get done but oh well, that's life. I'm blogging on Feb. 29 so that's my compromise.

I'm sort of glad to see Feb. gone. I'm not shedding any tears over it. It was our snowiest Feb. ever only about 2 days did we have no snow. Today's not one of them. It snowed really good. Unfortundately we are suppose to get more snow in the coming days. So maybe mid March it will be nice a little more often. We'll see. This winter has made me think those who go south for the winter are smart, not chicken. Wish I could have joined them.` The older I get the less I like winter.
I'm with the little girl at church who decided to wear Spring clothes hoping to push Spring in quicker. Our Adventure Club kids are getting cabin fever we can tell as they are so restless at Adventure Club. I even changed my template so it was lighter not so dark, make it more spring like.

Tomorrow we have Common Grounds, we are changing it to every 3 months now instead of every month as we are going to start a Contemporary Service the end of March on Sundays. Hopefully that will go over good and our church will grow.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

Update on The Lion

This piece is moving along quite fast. I am really pleased and hope to finish it up on Friday. Feb. 29 only comes once every 4 years, and I didn't have a finish last time, so maybe this year. If it goes as well as it is then I should get it done. Besides I have a lot of other pieces I am anxious to get going on.

I just went over towards my stitching chair and there was Whiskers starting to make himself comfortable in it. He was sitting on the back of it while I stitched. He was waiting to make his claim to the chair I guess and here I thought he wanted to be with me.

Today we made a trip out to JoAnne's to get some floss. I wanted to find a Noah's Ark pattern for a quilt we are doing in a Yahoo Group I'm in. But didn't find a pattern. Wendy (my brother's friend and my niece's mother long story) talked me into buying a coloring book and graph paper and do an animal that way. So I did. But I did find a Noah's Ark pattern to use in my own stash, and will use the pattern from the coloring book as my second piece for the quilt.

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Anoth New Start and I've been tagged

I had to lay down the Owl as this square is actually due 2 weeks before the Owl besides I needed a break from the Owl. Maybe you can tell, this is another Endangered Young'uns, this is The Lion. It's going pretty good and I love doing it. It really is a nice break from The Owl. I have 2 more Endangered Young'uns to do maybe 3 or 4 more, depending on if we go with Noah's Ark theme for the quilt we are doing at Every Stitch Counts for Love Quilts. More on that when the time comes.
I got tagged by Teresa to say 7 wierd things about myself. So here it goes:
1) The older I get the pickier I am about food.
2) The older I get the more fearful I am of stupid things like crossing a busy highway even at the light, or getting on an elevator.
3) I do not drive.
4) I do not like Ice Cream
5) I do not like Steak
6) I love seeing the icicles melt away from the roof and deck.
7) I get excited to see the sun rise earlier each morning and go down later each night.

Well that's my seven things, I am certifiable I know. I'm not going to tag anyone but if you want to do your own list go ahead.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

Okay so #7

Finish #10

I enjoyed doing this quick easy piece. As much as I love doing the Owl, which I will pick back up in a few minutes, this piece had more color in it.

Today is so nice out. Yesterday was icy and dreary, today the sun is melting the sun. The temps are suppose to drop all day, and the next couple of days cold then we'll hit the 20's and 30's at end of week. Alright!

We had 4 birthdays between Feb. 5, and 17, my niece, Tabi, on the 5th, nephew, Caleb on the 9th, brother Kevin, the 15th, and nephew Andrew on the 17th. We seem to have our birthday's in bunches. Although we do have a stray one in March, and a couple in April where there are at least 2 weeks between each of the 3. If my niece Heather doesn't have her baby on mom's birthday then I hope she has it May 1. We don't have any May birthdays.

Sat. our class sponsored a game afternoon at church. We had so much fun. Quite a few of us played Boulderdash. I had never played that game before. But it was so fun coming up with a definition to match the word you never heard of. Then you had to guess the right definition. I loved it!

Thank you for your comments to the Owl so far, I love seeing this piece come to life and is so much fun to stitch. It's actually going easier and quicker than I expected.

Well, guess I'll go and go to stitching on the Owl. Until next time Happy Stitching.

Start on Owl

I laid down The Caretaker for a couple of months. I need to get some pieces done for Love Quilts (all are animals). This one is for an Emergency Quilt. The boy will be 14 in April and has bone cancer. He had a couple of surgeries this past week and isn't doing very well. His quilt is Masculine Birds with a Scripture verse. He mostly wanted Eagles and Hawks, unfortunately I didn't have them but did find this Owl that was accepted for the quilt. I just need to find a scripture verse. The one I want to use I'm not sure goes with the owl.

Today is a beautiful day outside. It's so pretty to look out at all the snow, and it's not that cold, (upper 20's low 30's today). It snowed some earlier. We have well over a foot on the ground so a little snow is annoying even. Sunday a major storm is to come in. Figures so we'll see if there is church or not. We had it last Sunday.

The other day I took my parents dog for a walk, poor little girl, the snow was so far over her head we could only go where it was shoveled or a well worn path. She looks like a princes prancing through that snow. It's so cute.

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

One more Update

Before laying this piece down. I'm going to start an Emergency Quilt square for Love Quilts tomorrow. Then I'll need to do some other squares for them, so this piece is getting laid down for awhile. It was going well so it won't be hard to pick back up. The picture isn't the greatest as I didn't get it as flat on the table I thought I had.

It is snowing again today. We need to be careful, it won't be long and we'll need plows on our cars to even move around. Winter has hit us with a vengence this year. The cold temperatures aren't helping either as they can't salt the roads, it's too cold. And schools have been closed several days the last 3 weeks. Spring is coming some day. But right now it seems like a long time from now.

More Progress on The Caretaker

I have a total of 280 hours of stitching on this piece now and this is progress as of this morning. I have almost 5 pages done. Right now I plan to stitch on it another week to 10 days before laying it down to do another Endangered animal piece.

Our weather has been up and down these last few weeks. It may be nice one day and the next a winter storm blows in. The snow is beautfiul to look at as long as you are on inside looking out. I walked my parents dog the other day and she sort of galloped like a horse through the snow yet looked like a little Princes. The snow is actually deeper than what she is tall, but she seems to like to prance through the snow when it's nice out. When it's nasty, no, she does what she has to and is right back inside again.

Last night was our first meeting of the Evangelism Board at church. And oh boy, we have a lot of work to do, but it's going to be fun and exciting to see God at work. Pastor is in charge of it this year, and he sort of remapped the role of the Evangelism Board to include Outreach as well as Missions instead of just Missions. I'm excited to see what will happen in future. I was elected Secretary so I took good notes I hope.

I love my new bed. I've had very little trouble getting use to it. I sleep so much better on it. It also is much easier to make in the morning as it is higher up and makes my room look so much better!

Thank you for reading my blog and for your comments. I really appreciate them. Well until next time Happy Stitching.

Update on The Caretaker

First I want to thank you for your comments to my chocolate piece.
The Caretaker is moving along sort of slow right now. I think I'm going to have to frog a little at the bottom as I discovered I made a mistake. Hopefully not too much will have to come out. It'll be Monday before I really get back into stitching it seriously as between now and then I'll be gone a lot. Because of the business of the next 3 days, I'll just work on Winter Frost (which is appropriate for now), pick up The Caretaker on Monday.

My sister came into town yesterday. (The one "nice" day we had this week.) By saying nice, I mean at least you could drive without too many problems if you were careful. We've been hit by a few storms. The kids must be enjoying their No school days, but wait until they have to make them up in June, see how they enjoy them. Anyway we were lucky we didn't get hit by last night's storm, but areas south of us sure did. It is snowing some here, but not like other areas.

When my sister got to town yesterday, she took me to Sleep Doctor to get me a mattress, box spring and frame. Mine are 30 years old and is slanted a little so I really needed a new one. Her husband decided since I was the only one in our family outside of our parents who hadn't asked them for anything they should get me something I really need. Toss up between a new chair or mattress, my sister decided I needed the mattress more. So I picked a set out yesterday and it is coming today. They should call in about a half hour and let me know when they are coming. I hope it's early. I'm looking forward to crawling into bed tonight, not having to be careful or worry about the bed landing on my cat. I'm sure Whiskers will try the bed out first though. That salesman was so funny when he found out I had a cat he put on paper "Beware of Bobcat" I told him I was writing on it he was a 7 pounder but he said it was still going in his computer as a Bobcat! I hope he was joking!

After they come and set my bed up I'll take off to my parents house. We were going to go shopping today but the weather is not the best plus now I have to wait for my mattress to come, we'll probably just play games at my parents. My sister will clean their house this morning (something we planned to do tomorrow. Guess I got out of that LOL!) But I cleaned my own place this morning. I even have my laundry going.

Sunday I'm going to a birthday party for a cute little 1 year old at church. Usually you don't go all out for a first party. But the mother is from the Phillipines, and I wonder if it is custom in the Phillipines to have a 1st birthday. The baby is so cute though, outside of Johnny, he's my favorite baby. Of course Johnny is #1.

Well I've rambled enough. Have a safe warm weekend everyone. Until next time Happy Stitching.

Cute, quick finish

I bought this pattern a couple of years ago. I thought it was cute and funny. I did this on the side of The Caretaker. It really went quick. Besides it was a quick piece to get me toward the 50 mark. This is #9, still have a long ways to go. Now to find another easy piece to do on side of The Caretaker. Sometimes the Caretaker is so intense, you feel like stitching but not something that difficult, especailly late afternoon, early evening, these small easy pieces are great to do then!Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Back to The Caretaker

I picked this piece back up Sunday and started stitching on it again. Today didn't go to well with it but tomorrow will be a better day. This is progress after 220 hours of stitching on it.

I have a small piece out to do along side of this. It's sort of a funny but cute piece. It won't take long to stitch up.

Our weather has been so cold and snowy. Last night alone we received 10 inches plus whatever fell today. It's suppose to snow off and on through tomorrow. My sister was going to come to town today but because of the weather isn't. None of the schools were open today either. I knocked the icicles off my deck this morning and less then 2 hours later they were back again. What was the use. My mom says their dog doesn't mind the snow but hates the cold, and this snow she sinks down into it instead of staying on top so she doesn't like that too well. It's low teens now but this weekend we are suppose to get to 30's. The snow is pretty to look at especially fresh but I'm ready for Spring. But we have about 3 more months of snow to deal with yet.

Thank you for reading my blog and for the comments you have left on it. I really appreciate them.

Well....until next time...Happy Stitching!

They are Finished!

Thank you for all the comments to my blog lately. I really appreciate them.

I loved doing this piece. They really went fairly quick for as detailed they are. I will be doing more animals from this book believe me! The only reason this piece took as long as I did is because I did railroad all the way through it. It takes longer but makes the stitches lay flatter and look neater. I love the look and worth the extra time it takes. This is no 7 toward the 50 challenge. I'm not flying through it but that's okay. I have over 860 books and kits, not counting the magazines and have only stitched from a little over 220 of them. I need to stitch more from what I have! Now they are done I will be going back to The Caretaker.

It is not nice out there. Yesterday we had temps sub zero and snow and this is to continue through tomorrow. I'm ready for spring! Oh well....this is the first real winter we've had in a couple of years.

It's too bad as today we are having a potluck at church and our Annual Business Meeting and the turnout will be poor because of the weather.

Well I want to get a little stitching done and I have to make my dish to pass so guess I better go. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Golden Lion Tamrin

This is moving right along. I really hope to finish this over the weekend or Monday. I'll have quite a bit of time today and tomorrow to stitch it and don't really have that much to do. This is progress after 72 hours of stitching. I think I'm going to be using my digital camera for the finished piece my scanner isn't quite wide enough to get all of it in.

Is everyone keeping warm? It's cold out then and going to get colder. I'm ready for winter to end. This year we are really getting winter. Although I wouldn't call it a hard winter. We've just had consistant snow only a couple days of it being really nasty.

Today is my sister's birthday. So Happy Birthday Kay. I don't think she even knows about this blog so probably won't see it. She's not much for computers except to get in touch with her 3 children.

Sunday we are having our Annual Business Meeting and potluck at church. I'm with Pastor have the meeting first then eat. It'll be a quick meeting then as everyone will want to eat. But we'll eat first. We're having our election of officers. I'm going off Equip Board and on to the Evangelism Board. If you're nominated you're voted in.

Until next time Happy Stitching

Golden Lion Tamarin Updated

I've gotten quite a bit of progress done on this the past few days. It really is a fun stitch.

I have a question I want to add Feedjit to my Template to see where visitors come from but can't figure out where to add it. Could someone instruct me on it?

It's been a wierd weather week here. Earlier this week we had severe storms and tornado warnings out. Now we have snow! Of course snow is more typical in January.

I have a busy weekend ahead so probably won't get much stitching in now until Monday. Tomorrow I have to go to a workshop at church. They want the Elders, those and those going to the board and Evangelism Board Members and those going to the Board to go to it. I am going to be going on the Evangelism Board in Feb. so have to go to the meeting. Then Sunday after church we are going to my brother's house to celebrate my dad's birthday. His birthday was yesterday.

Well until next time Happy Stitching.

Golden Lion Tamarin (Monkey

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a good and safe New Year weekend.

They say these are monkey's and I guess they look like them except for the fur around their face. I really love stitching this piece. It's coming along fairly fast and easy. I'm railroading on it so it slows me down some but I want to make railroading a habit as the stitching is so much neater that way. This piece will be going to our Youth Pastor's baby boy. His wife asked me to do either a zebra, monkey, or elephant and I chose to do these monkey's. I love the animals in this book and will be doing 3 more sometime between now and May.

Last week was fairly quiet, this week will be somewhat busier. I half expect my sister to come into town Tues. & Wed. but not sure.

Last night we had our Contemporary Worship service but the attendance really was down. I think it's because of the Holidays, everyone just wanted a relaxing night home. I only had 3 kids in the children's program so that was nice expecially since I was alone the two that usually work with me were not there either. But the kids are pretty good and we behaved.

Well for some reason I'm tired I'm going to lay down a little. My cat likes to wake me up early and this morning he was successful in getting me up at 6 am. So if I lay down a half hour I'll make it through rest of day. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Finish # 6

I just finished this about an hour ago. This angel will go to Ashley V at Love Quilts who chose Angels as theme of her quilt. This was a fun piece to do. Now to start stitching on the Monkey's for our Youth Pastor's baby.

It's hard to believe 2007 is now at an end. It's been a very interesting year and ended in a way we never thought it would. It's been a year of the good and bad but we all got through it. Now to move on to 2008. I hope you all Have a Happy New Year. Until next time Happy Stitching!

A New Start

I am a little past half way on done on this angel. There is a lot of white but I really am enjoying it. It's fairly easy and is coming together well. Much better than Baby Jesus was. (That one I will try to finish next Christmas Season. I promise.) It's too cute of a piece and I put too much time into it to not finish it then. As far as this piece goes I hope to finish up Monday but we'll see. It'd be nice to start a new piece (an Endangered Young'uns piece) on the first day of 2008.
If I don't have this finished then I hope you all have a Happy and Safe New Year. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Family Christmas

I am having a problem with my asthma and acid reflux so I thought I would come to the computer and try posting some pictures of our family Christmas today. I didn't get very many pictures though most of them had either Johnny or Ashton in them. They were our two little stars today anyway. Hopefully I am doing these right. It is almost 2 am I'll try going to bed after this post as things are finally starting to calm down and I think I'll be able to sleep. My brother Tim's grandson, Ashton found a friend in John (my niece's husband and liked roughing up with him.
This picture is of my sister in law Beth and her grandson, Johnny, yes she got him a few times.
This one is of Ashton and John. Ashton really took to John..
This one is my brother Kevin and his Grandson Johnny who is now 1. He loves his Grandpa and pretty much stuck to him today. That is when he wasn't crawling around to get into mishief. He's at that age curious about everything.
I can see I didn't do this exactly right but this is first time I was able to do Multiple pictures and at least have them gone almost the way I wanted so practice makes perfect. Sorry if you get confused. On the picture of Beth and Johnny you can see my Niece, Christina, and Nephew, Jeremy in back ground, Jeremy is really blurred he must have moved just then. and on (I think Ashton and John roughing it up you can see my dad in background. I also see some of the pictures aren't the best quality. Sorry, I'll try to figure out later what I did wrong.
On the stitching front I have quit stitching on Baby Jesus. I just couldn't handle it any longer, so laid it down until next Christmas. I am stitching on an Angel for a little girl at Love Quilts. I'll post a picture of it in a few days. Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

More Progress on Baby Jesus

It's been a little while since I posted. I've been gone day and night the last few days. It's been really busy. My poor cat had his nose out of joint as I was never home and when I returned he could smell my parents dog on me! How dare I dessert him for another animal! Today I'm staying home all day! Neither one of us are going to know how to act. Oh I have housework to do but I'm stitching instead!

I finished my Christmas shopping yesterday! A friend took me and we really had fun. It was so nice to do something away from church and with someone other than family. Not putting either one down, but it was just a nice break. Now to get those Christmas Cards out! They are on my table, and some are addressed.

My mom is doing really good. She continues to have a great attitude which really helps in her recovery. In a couple of weeks she'll get fitted for her prosthesis.

Baby Jesus is going very slow. I do fear a little more improvising is going to be done, so I'm going to the angel on the left and just do the improvising on the blanket. I'm still really not enjoying this piece. I will be so glad when it's done. Hopefully before Christmas which is 4 days away!

We are having our family Christmas Dec. 26, at least those who can be there. Several are out of state and my niece, Tabitha, lives in town but she might have to work so we don't know if her or her little boy, Ashton will be there.

Well if I don't post before Christmas Have a Merry Christmas. Until next time, Happy Stitching!

Baby Jesus WIP

This is the piece you have heard me whine about. The verdict is still out as to enjoying it, but it does go better at times! This is #6 towards the 50 challenge and no. 5 towards the 25 challenge of stitching from 25 books or magazines I haven't stitched from before.

It is snowing heavy out sides. They are huge flakes falling from the sky. Keep that up we'll be buried in a few hours! LOL! Oh well it is Dec. and it's early in the season. Maybe it will leave in Feb. instead of March or Apr. I can only hope! And maybe we will have our White Christmas. We haven't had a pure White Christmas for awhile. Last year it was green and the year before very little snow.
It is pretty to look out at but I'm going out in it in about 30 minutes to go up and see my mom.

Today is Johnny's first birthday! Can you believe he is already a year old. We had a party for him on Sunday. It was fun but so many people were there. There were 5 babies (including Johnny) under 1 2 or 3 toddlers, and about 5 other kids 10 or under plus 3 older. It was noisy! But Johnny was so cute. He wasn't sure he liked everyone at his house and he definitely wasn't sure about the babies playing with his toys, but he was good.

I'm going to go back to stitching. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Swirly Snow

This is finish #5 towards the 50 challenge. I started this a while back but got it back out yesterday to finish it. I love the look of white on black fabric so I chose to do it this way. You could use whatever color and whatever material you wanted. I enjoyed this piece so much I may try using another color of floss and material in the future, just for the variation.

Well until next time Happy Stitching

Swirly Snow Update

I have been working on this a little the past couple of days just to get a break from Baby Jesus. That one angel is just giving me fits. Maybe Monday I'll post a picture of that. I hope to finish this piece tomorrow but not sure. I have a busy weekend ahead. I'll get some stitcing in tomorrow morning I think.

Our SS class is having a Christmas potluck at the church tomorrow. We were to bring a $5.00 gift exchange. I got told what to bring for the potluck and as a gift. My 7 layer bars. I don't like those things they are too rich but so many people like them. So tomorrow I'll make 2 batches of my seven layer bars, one to eat and the other as a gift. Hmmm....wonder if I would get away with that for our family Christmas Dec. 26, having the 7 layer bars be a gift too. We'll see. I still have to get 3 more gifts so I may just pick up a gift then too.

I just got back from seeing my mom. She's doing really good. She is in Rehab right now and will come home for good next Friday.

Well...until next time Happy Stitching!

Just an Update

This particular piece was done a couple of years ago but thought I would post it now with the events of this past week.

My mom decided to have her foot amputated. She really was at peace about it. Thursday, my mom, dad, and sister all met with the Dr. to really have a discussion on mom's options. Yes they could have attempted to save her foot but it would have meant 2 to 4 surgeries in the next few days and no guarantees. Then when they finally did put the new rod and screws in that the screws wouldn't break loose again. Each surgery now and future would also increase the risk of another infection and going higher in her leg. If it went obove the knee because of her age she would not get a prosethesis. Whereas now she could and probably walk better than she has. So she decided on the amputation. She is recovering very well and will probably go to Rehab tomorrow.

My procedure went fine. They did find some palyps which the Dr. does not expect to be cancerous and they can usually pretty much tell on site. He did send one of them to be biopsied just to make sure. He did say to start eating 5 small meals a day rather then 1 or 2 big meals. I tend to skip breakfast and supper just eat lunch. That is difficult for me.

We have been hit by winter! It's been a dreary week but we got hit by the storm Friday and Sat. nights. We woke up to lots of ice this morning. And it's still yucky out there, dark and dreary, rainish. Just not a nice day out there. We told dad not to go see mom tonight as it's so slippery out there. Rather or not he'll listen who knows. Mom would rather he stayed home too.

I am slowly working on Baby Jesus by Stoney Creek. I will post my progress on it in a couple of days. I just haven't had that much time to stitch on the piece with all that's been happening. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Shocking News

This isn't the shocking news that will come after this. But this is a piece I finished last fall and my sister framed it brought it back with her Monday. It's hanging in my parents room now.

I haven't had much time to stitch this past week and probably won't until stitch a lot until the weekend. The next few days are going to be rough and hectic.

I've mentioned my parents health problems before and that my mom had a second ankle surgery taking out the screws putting in earlier as they broke loose. The surgery was a month ago. It was healing good but then last week in Physical Therapy the therapist noticed a blister on back of her foot. So the therapist called the Dr. Her regular Dr. wasn't there and she saw one of his partners. That partner was not nice and just says..."That is just a popped blister." and put a small bandaid on it and left. Yea right with all that drainage! My dad rewrapped it. Thursday morning she found a second popped blister that was draining very bad so dad called the office emergency. That Dr. was really nice told dad how to wrap it and prescribed a strong antibiotic. That seemed to be working so we thought. Although mom and dad could feel the screw at bottom of her foot. She went back to the Dr. and received really bad news and her and dad have 24 hours to make their decision. One is they can redo the surgery clean everything out and put a rod in. No guarantees that will work. Or two lose her her leg up to the shin bone. Needless to say mom is very upset and dad is concearned. My sister left yesterday but she's coming back today to be with mom. Kay is a RN and she wants to talk to someone in the Dr. office etc.

Also tomorrow I have a scope scheduled to find out if my Acid Reflux Disease has progressed or if something else is going on in my stomach. I've had problems with my chest and upper stomach for months now and the past couple weeks have been worse. I was going to cancel it by my family will be very upset if I do. Don't know how I'll get to the hospital as I don't drive. Maybe if my sister is still here she will take me. I just hope it isn't bad news. If it is I'm not telling my parents at this point.

I usually don't ask this and I usually try to be up beat but we are really concearned about our parents they are up in age and both have CHF. So please pray for them as they make this decision. Thank you.

At last a Finish

This is finish no. 4 towards the 25-50 challenge. (Twenty five books I haven't stitched from or 50 pieces altogether. So far this counts as 4 both ways. It was a quick easy finish. Now to go start the Christmas piece I kitted up.

I'm keeping this one short as I've said plenty the last few days. Until next time. Happy Stitching!

Thanksgiving

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Ours was good. This picture is funny. My niece's husband held up this big Turkey Leg asked who wanted it and 12-year-old Andrew spoke up for it. So here he is holding up the Turkey Leg before we all get ready to eat. He didn't eat quite all of it, but he gave it a good try. We had so much food and it was fun.

My nephew Bryan and his fiancee Krissy made it in from Chicago. They just announced their engagement and Krissy has a beautiful ring. It had been a couple of years since I had seen Bryan and he has sure matured a lot. He was a 21 year old kid and Krissy had just came into his life when I last saw him at Heather's Wedding 23 months ago. He was a man now not a kid. Michelle made it in from OR. Michelle the vegetarian, and Heather who had never made a turkey before made the turkey and did a good job. The meal was so good. Bryan did take some teasing from us because he was asked to bring the ingrediants for Greaen Bean Casserole and Krissy would make it up at Heather's house. Well, he brought a can of Peas along with the other stuff. He felt peas belonged in the casserole.

My sister and brother-in-law made it in with their dog from other side of state. Because of a skin problem healing up they didn't want to kennel Maveric. He got along well with Heather and Brian's dog, Trisket. The dogs were in the basement most of the time, but some of us went and saw them and the dogs were brought up a couple of times to greet everyone. Michelle and I took the dogs for a walk and Trisket for being so big was so good to walk with. She didn't pull, she just walked beside me. Maverick is on a mission when he walks, he just wants to walk, Trisket wanted to "stop and smell the flowers" and observe everything.

It was a fun day that ended too soon. Fortunately the weather was decent for us I don't know about those going to other side of the state. Today it is snowing out so let the Christmas Holidays begin I guess.

Well until next time Happy Stitching! I hope to have Autumn's Harvest finished tomorrow morning so I'll post then.

Start No. 4-Swirly Snow

I decied to lay down The Caretaker for a few days to do a couple of easy projects. This piece is called Swirly Snow. It's a SAL with some members at 123 stitch. One of the members designed it and we really liked it. I will have to lay it down for the day since it is on black and the sun just isn't out today and it's getting drearier out so lighting is poor. I'm going to start Autumn Harvest by Brittercup Designs. That one I will work on in the car tomorrow on our way to my niece's house. We call it my "shut up" piece that way I'm not all over the driver who in this case will be my dad. We are taking the back way as it is much quicker and easier than getting on to the expressway. As long as we don't get behind a slowpoke.
Hopefully the roads are clear for my nephew and his girlfriend coming in from Chicago and my niece is flying in from OR. Hopefully she will miss the messy weather.

Michelle will be in MI for a week although most of it at her parents on other side of state. Tues. we are having a mini get together as some won't be there tomorrow. We are hoping Tabitha can take her noon hour and join us and meet Michelle. She looks so much like Michelle. (Tabitha is my niece but we only recently learned about her long story I don't care to go into at this point). Michelle has a job interview at a college near here on Monday. In the spring her Internship ends so her and Scott have applied to be Professors at several different colleges. Needless to say they are applying all over but going to live where they can either be at the same college or a college near by. (Both have their Phd.'s in Chemistry)

Our weather is iffy the next couple of days although they said today would be bad and so bad it's not. Tomorrow is suppose to be okay, snow or rain at times but not bad.

Well Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving. Until next time Happy Stitching!

The Caretaker 200 Hours

I've done a lot of stitching this past week and got quit a bit further. Three in a half pages are now completed. Page 4 is going quite fast and so far it's been my favorite page. You can see the elk just barely coming in. I have now stitched on it 200 hours and will still keep at it.

My mom felt like she was Queen for the Day at church. This lady gave her a lot of jewlery she had made. It was beautiful stuff. This lady is very talented in crafts she can do almost everything including cross stitching, quilting, fabric painting, sewing, jewlery making. Well you got the idea. Than another lady made some Pecan Pie and gave her a piece to make sure she took home with her. Mom loved it.

We had our annual Harvest Dinner after church today. As usual the food was really good. And there was lots left over. We had a large turnout. On the way home we had a little excitement. One of the ladies on the bus lives in a bad part of town and we saw a fight. The bus driver gets off the bus yells at the boys to stop and after 3 attempts at calling 911 he just got through when a police car came behind and he stopped the car to tell them what happened. The lady that lives in the neighborhood also got off the bus to talk to the boys. Man Jim was lucky one of the boys didn't pull a knife on him or have a gun. But they really were beating that boy bad and we were nervous they'd kill him. But all is well that ends well....well hopefully the boy will be okay. Hopefully they won't get the boy later.

Does everyone have Thanksgiving plans? We are going to my niece's house. They just bought a new house so we'll get to see it.

Well, I'm going to try to get a little more stitching in. Just wanted to show the progress after 200 hours stitching even.

The Caretaker

Almost 3 complete pages are done. I'm going to start the 4th page in a few minutes as the blue is getting monotonous. I'm really anxious to get to the next section as I think the Elk will start to come in and the pattern will really look like something then. I am really enjoying this piece. So far I've put in a little over 160 hours and I have worked on it 5 weeks now. I started it 5 weeks ago today infact, so you can see I do have spent probably more time than I should have on it. Oh well.....I'll keep at it for awhile anyway.

We had a Pizza Party for the 3rd-5th graders from Adventure Club last night. They played a lot of games and had pizza. The kids seemed to enjoy themselves. They played a couple of games that usually aren't played at Adventure Club.

I had the Ultra Sound yesterday to see if it's my Gall Bladder causing my problems. We really don't think it is, we sort of think it's the Acid Reflux Disease in large part. And I think it is but man the discomfort and nausea I feel at times. A part of me wonders if I'm just drinking too much Pepsi.
Afterwards I went to my parents to unpack some of their photo albums etc. But the ones mom really want are still in storage so we'll need to get them out. Also spoiled the dog some more. I missed that dog. She's quite a character and when I left I told her I'd try not to stay away so long and she just looked at me and listened intently. Of course she got a couple good walks out of me. She leads me where she wants to go!

Well until next time Happy Stitching!

Our Little Pumpkin

Johnny was a little Pumpkin on Halloween night. I love this picture of him so had to share it.

I have a feeling I'm in for a 3rd night without heat! I called Maitenance yesterday, he came and fixed it and at night it went out again. He came again today and now tonight it's not working again. I am very unhappy. Tomorrow I can call the office. I'll just tell them I need heat at night. Right now it's not so bad as it only gets down to 30's but tomorrow is suppose to turn cold I really need the heat then. As it is I'm fighting a cold from not having heat!

I'm still stitchng on The Caretaker. Not a lot further. Well until next time Happy Stitching!

"Trunk Or Treat"

Unfortunately I didn't think to take my camera to church last night but the Trunk or Treating seemed to be a big success. This is new to us but is common on other side of the state. People from the church put candy in their trunks, decorate them and the Trick or Treaters get candy from them. Since our church is fairly small and this is our first time we only had 7 cars but lots of Trick or Treaters. I was inside with the Adventure Club kids. We had about 20 kids which is more than we thought we would. We took the kids to the 7 cars where they got some candy. Than while the kids and some of us leaders were listening to the chalk artist some other leaders took their bags and filled them up with candy donated from members of our church and from us leaders. The kids were amazed how much candy they got! That should keep them happy for a couple of weeks. I'm sure their parents love us for loading them up with all that sugar! Those bags were filled!
The kids really seemed to enjoy the Chalk Artist it was something different from our noraml program. Fortunately the rain held off. In this area you can only Trick or Treat between the hours of 6 and 8 pm. It's for the child's safety. Most of the trick or treaters are done by 7:30. My parents had a few kids come to their apartment but their favorite two were their Great Grand Sons, 4 year old Ashton brought by his mommy Tabitha and 10 month old Johnny brought by his mommy, Melissa. I can't wait to see the pictures of those two. My nephew Andrew (12) decided at 12 years old he was too old to Trick or Treat so he handed out the candy instead.
I've been working on The Caretaker quite abit. Page 2 is almost done, but I went to page 3 as I knew it would be a boring page so I could go back to page 2 when 3 got too boring. I know I'm wierd!
Well I have a Board Meeting at church tonight. First we have a joint meeting of all boards to discuss something than we'll meet in our own boards. Usually they don't do that but are tonight.
Until next time Happy Stitching!
