Last post of 2009

Since it only has 6 hours and 45 minutes left.
Well....I started this piece as Baylie's Sealife is due middle of January and I can't find the You're a Keeper pattern. I probably threw it away by accident. I needed to find something fairly easy. I just hope it's not too young or whimsical for her. It is going to be a starfish with a pail over his head and a shovel in his hand. It's cute and easy enough to finish by the 15th.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Ours was really nice. As usual I made out like a bandit.
I'm not making any goals for 2010 as far as stitching goes as I never seem to reach them. I did get 7 pieces done for Love Quilts but that is only goal I made. I'm just going to see what happens. I had hope to have blogged a hundred times in 2009 too, fell short of that, this is 68. Oh well... Just things happened I had not planned on is all.
Saturday we are having our family Christmas. Hopefully the weather will be descent for those out of town it's not suppose to be though.
Thank you to everyone who has read my blog though 2009 and to those who made comments. I really appreciated them. Have a Happy and Safe New Year!
Until next year....Happy Stitching!

Honest I am Stitching-Some

I've made some progress on this over the past 10 days. It is coming slowly but surely. Mostly bcause I just haven't had the time to stitch on it. But don't have much to show for my time either is the problem.

Christmas at the Lakeshore was a success. We had over 600 people come out for the 4 performances. We swetted that one out as our Board was told the failure or success of this lied within our board and we really didn't get that much time or money to pull it off but after the first night's performance we knew it was going to be a success. Hated the costume I had to wear, and I think I will have a burning ceremony for the cap anyway. I'll keep the skirt, blouse and cape for Halloween next year. LOL.

Last night we had a beautiful candlelight service at church. It was the end of the Advent Series Pastor was having. It was so pretty and really did put me more into the Christmas Spirit. I've been sort of Baa Humbug about Christmas this year. I do have all my cards done and my Christmas Presents are bought so I had some spirit. Just not much more.

My mom came home from the hospital today. We are a little upset with the hospital though as she fell Friday night and didn't tell anyone. An aide mentioned it the next day and my dad and brother were there. They didn't even tell the Dr. my dad told the Dr. this morning so she's having x rays next week when she's a little more mobile. Today my sister is coming in until Thursday to help out. Since mom didn't want to go to a Nursing Home dad is going to need more help from us. We didn't blame her at all who wants to be in a Nursing Home over the holidays and that is just what would have happened. There is a problem though my mnom's back bones are so fragile, if she just turns wrong she can break them. She has a back brace, which she hates to wear but admits that her back feels better with it.

Well-while typing this I see someone has stolen my stitching chair!
This year I haven't made any of my stitching goals except to stitch 7 pieces for Love Quilts. I had the goal of 100 posts this year too. That fell short. If I post one more time after this I'll have 68. I think I can.

Today is the shortest day of the year. Hooray the days get longer. I love seeing the days get longer. I make a game out of it through beginning Feb. Then I just settle back and enjoy the added sunlight!
I hope you all Have a Merry Christmas. Enjoy the day with your families. Well...until next time Happy Stitching!

Some Progress anyway

I think I am finally getting my stitching mojo back. I'm also finally gettng thins piece going again. It took a while and was only a few stitches a day for awhile there. Then today I finally started taking off of it. This is a UFO from about 5 years ago.
Today Johnny is 3 years old. Can you believe it? It seems like only yesterday I posted we were waiting for his birth and then his birth. Melissa and John are having a party for him tonight. Guess I better wrap his present! I hate wrappying presents. Johnny is going to have a brother or sister in Feb. Things will change for him. He's so use to being center of attention, but he'll do fine he's all excited about the baby.
Today is also my sister-in-law's birthday, tomoorrow, Alanis, Sunday my brother-in-law's, next Thursday it'll be 17 years I got Whiskers (just two days after Buffy died), it's also my niece, Heather and Brian's anniversay, next Friday is my brother's birthday next Sunday his Anniversary, also anniversary of our grandfather's death, and anniversary of day I broke my ankle, and the 24th is my nephew Josh's birthday. Think we have enough, there would be 3 more in thee but they all died.
Like much of the country we got hit by the winter storm. All schools were closed Wed. and Thursday, a few opened today but not a whole lot. It does make it seem like Christmas.
This weekend is the last weekend of Christmas on the Lakeshore at our church. Wer were really pleased with the turn out last weekend. Plans are being made for another Christmas production next year.
Well, until next time.....Happy Stitching!

Christmas Stitching

I will go back to Treble Clef after the Holidays maybe late winter early spring as there is some other stitching I need to get done. I'll give it to Shari next year.
I finally decided to get in the mood for Christmas and we know Christmas is about the birth of Christ. This is a piece I started 2 or 3 years ago and never finished so dug it out to finish it.
Friday we went to Rockford to see my niece and great nephew from CO. They were at another niece's house for 4 days. It was fun. Johnny and Addie were adorable. Johnny found a guitar of Addie's and played with it the whole time, Addie would dance as he played, sometimes they would sing. Johnny ran around the house singing "Santa Claus is coming to town" and other times singing "Jesus Loves Me" Addie just sang and danced. Nicholas isn't quite 3 months old and just took in his surroundings. He really liked the Christmas Tree lights.
Friday and Saturday was Christmas at the Lakeshore at our church. The church is all decorated up. Those of us greeting or in the program had to wear Victorian Costumes. My sister made my costume for the most part. We swetted that one out as I wasn't getting it until we saw my sister that day (she lives on opposite side of state), and the weather in Grand Rapids, Rockford area was awful. Ours wasn't bad. So we didn't even know if we'd make the trip until the last minute just decided to go. Fortunately the costume fit. Both performances went well and we received lots of compliments. We were happy with the attendance both nights too. Now we have two more performances next weekend and we're done.
By the way I have gotten my stitching mojo back somewhat. I quit playing the games at Facebook because bugs were getting into my computer. So be careful those of you who like to play those games there.
Well....until next time Happy Stitching!

Some More Progress Anyway

I've stitched some on Treble Clef this week and slowly but surely made progress this past week. It's not that hard of a stitch for it being by Stoney Creek. I seem to pick a lot of their patterns don't I? This is progress after about 20 hours of stitching. The bird is just statting to come in but I doubt you can see it...It's just the beak that is there.
It's been a fairly quiet week this week. My mom is home now and doing okay. She's still having some back pain though. We just hope she gets through the holidays pretty pain free.
Do you have special Thanksgiving plans? We're going to my youngest brother's house for dinner. Their daughter, Tabbi may be working but we'll have Ashton there probably. Also Wendy's mother and step father will be their and Wendy's other daughter, Tara and her two girls might be there.
The 4th of Dec. we are going to see my niece, Michelle and her baby, Nicholas. They will be in the Grand Rapids area for 3 days at her sister's house. So we are having a brunch with them that day, then that evening I will be greeting at Christmas on the Lakeshore our church is putting on 4 performances 2 the 1st weekend of Dec. and 2 the second so I'll be busy with that. They have already put up a lot of the Christmas decorations. A little early but because of the play they really don't have much time after Thanksgiving so had to have a head start. Me not being a Christmas person anyway can't seem to handle the early decorations posted it on my facebook and boy have I been abused in fun! Even our Pastor calls me Scrooge.
Then on Thurs. I came in to work in the food pantry and ended up helping them with the decorations. It was fun but I sure didn't know what I was doing from adam. I don't even decorate my own place! I know Scrooge!
Well, I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, enjoy your dinners and the leftovers. Ours starts tomorrow when we have our annual Harvest Dinner at church. Lots of great food! Until next time....Happy Stitching!

Another new start

This one I will stick to the finish. I am enjoying it. It will be a Christmas Present for a friend who rally has gone through the storms this year. First her step sister died suddenly then she found out her own sister had cancer, then the dept. she had worked at at the phone company was eliminated so she had no job, and her mother died right at the same time. She loves flowers, music and birds and this piece has all 3 so I thought it would be fitting for her.
My sinuses started acting up a month ago and for a while I started to feel better than started feeling miserable again. Now I'm starting to feel better again and hope I stay that way. Once winter comes I'll feel better for sure
My mom is home from the Nursing Home now. She was just there for a couple of weeks until she started getting her strength back up a little.
For anyone around Muskegon, Michigan our church is having Christmas on the Lakeshore Dec. 3, 4, 12 & 13. A lot of work is going into it. It's going to be a production like Calvary use to do only on a smaller scale. I'm going to be one of the Greeters. My sister is making my costume for it.
Also the weekend of Dec. 3, Michelle and Nicholas are flying up from CO. Can't wait to see Nick. So we are having a get together Dec. 4. Also Amanda and her husband may be here sometime in early Dec. They were in England for 3 years as Amanda is in the Air Force. She is expecting their first child in April so she's in the reserves now.
Well that's about it for me. Thank you to everyone who reads my blogs. I appreciate it and love hearing the comments. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Three adorable Trick or Treaters

It's been a while since I've posted pictures of these 3. Johnny is the little cowboy and will be 3 in December. Addie the butterfly is now 18 months, and Chelsea the pirate is 9 months. Aren't the adorable? I love them so much I got to see Johnny earlier today, he had his cowboy outfit on to show his great grandparents, grandparents and me. He was so cute.

I'm making some progress on Catastrophe. Maybe later this week I'll post progress on it. Until next time happy Stitching!

A new start

I've been in a stitching and blogging slump. My goal was to post 100 times this year and to do more pieces than I did last year. Well.....those are just 2 of several goals I had for ths year that will not be meant. I didn't do an ornament a month, I didn't do a Thomas Kinkaid piece, nor a Marjolein Bastin piece. I know the year is not over but lets be real...thy won't get done.
My mom had her back surgery almost 2 weeks ago. It was touch and go for awhile but she's recovering in a Nursing Home for now until she can do more for herself. She's adjusting fine but knows she will be going home in a couple of weeks so that helps.
Happy Halloween everyone! This piece should have been further along but like I said I am in a stitching slump and until the last couple of days didn't stitch much at all. Today nothing much will get done as have to go to a funeral before long and then get some apple cider and donuts for Trunk or Treat tonight.
We have had Trunk or Treat at our church the last 3 years now. The neighbors just expect it now and look forward to it. Inside I will be serving apple cider and donuts to the people. It's suppose to be a cold night so probably Char will be heating the apple cider up. Char is our Pastor's wife and is helping me with it as the person who was going to backed out. Well she did give me quite a bit of notice so that was good and has a good reason.
Has Swine flu hit your area? It's hit here, I know a lot of people with it including my own nephew. So far they have done okay. We're just hoping my brother and Wendy don't catch it from Andrew, since his mother was so kind and sent Andrew to Tim when he got it. Not going there, I was so angry. Tim has health issues he would not do well if he got swine flu...We're also making sure mom and dad don't go around them.
Well, until next time Happy Stitching and Happy halloween!

A lot of progress this time

Thank you to everyone that has been reading my blog and thank you for the comments. Slowly but sure I am getting back into reading the blogs and commenting on them. There are a lot of good blogs out thee.
I think I did more stitching on this this past week then I had the earlier 3 weeks put together. It's finally coming together and looking like something It is fun to work on although it is not seasonal. It seems good to get back into stitching again.
They say we are going to have snow early next week. No accumulation but just irritating. I keep saying since summer didn't truly come then winter can't come The weather is not listening to me.
Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

A little further anyway

I haven't had much time for stitching this past week but this is about 10 hours of progress.
It's been a busy, great, but long week. I am so glad it's Friday yet sad to see Vermaas's leave. It was great seeing them again. It'll probably be another 2 or years before they come back.

I also have a couple of pictures of my niece and her family in CO. My sister went out there last weekend. (A quick trip). Nicholas is the newest addition to the family is 3 weeks old now.

A New Start

Man! I've been ignoring the blogs lately. Time just gets away from me. I am trying to stay away from the farm games except when I have to check the crops and now I'm trying to get it so it's once a day maybe twice, I'm spending way too much time at them. Also this game Marble Lines is too adedicting. That reminds me I haven't checked my email today. Okay enough of that.
This piece is going to a child at Love Quilts who chose Under the Sea as theme of her quilt. The mermaid is well underway. The fish, octopus, starfish and under water plants have to go in yet. The caption will say You-re a Keeper. I thought it was cute and so far is going well.
This coming up week is going to be really busy too as we have special Family Meetings at church with Tim and Susan Vermaas. They have been at our church 3 or 4 times now. Susan is a vantriliquist and Tim does the Bible lesson. They seem to click with our church and do a good job. I'm going to be a counsellor this time which will be my first time doing that.
Also my sister is coming in on Wed. After I go to Bible Study we'll head to Jo Ann's as I need to get a pattern for the dress I'm wearing in our Christmas program this year. They are putting on an elaborate program and those in the program and the greeters have to wear dresses from the early 1900's. My sister is making the dress for me and my sister-in-law said she would look through her hats. Yea, we have to wear hats too. My problem is I hate the hat they have with the dress I like best. The hat I like best I hate the dress so I'm hoping we can make that hat match the dress. We shall see.
Right now my sister is in CO getting aquainted with baby Nick he is 2 weeks old now. She plans to fly out there once every 3 or 4 months to see them.
Well my cat has discovered I'm at the computer. He doesn't like me there and will be in front of the screen in a minute. Yep here he is. Until next time happy Stitching!

HAPPY DANCE!!! A Finish Finally!

Yes I am shouting!!!! I am so happy to have this piece. Through all the problems with my hand and then getting really busy this piece just dragged on and on and it wasn't one that held my interest even. I will not be doing this pattern again believe me. This will go to a little boy at love quilts

Life is getting really busy lately. We have some things at church coming up like the Vermaas Family Meeting, a major Christmas Production (more on that in months to come). Plus I joined Bible Study Fellowship and that requires a lot of reading and indepth studying which is what I really needed and wanted. So on goes life.
Last week my niece, Michelle, had her baby boy. A little early but all is well and he is healthy and home now. His name is Nicholas. Michelle and Scott are finding out their lives have changed forever. Sleepless nights and all. Michelle gets this whole semester off from college and Scott is taking the next semester off so for the first 6 or 7 months of Nick's life he will have a parent with him.
Johnny is going to be a big brother in Feb. He doesn't have a clue but he'll be 3 by that time. So hard to beleve he will be a big brother let alone be 3. He's so sweet and cute. Chelsea and Addie are both growing. Addie is changing from a baby to a little girl it seems. Chelsea is crawling now. Boy I miss those babies and wish I could see them. Logan is already a month old now too. Can't wait to meet him some day....I haven't met his 7 year old sister or 6 year old brother yet. (Due to divorce and we live a few states away from them it's hard for Jake to bring those two up here.)
Tomorrow would be my grandmother's birthday. I think she would be 105 if she was still alive. She'll celebrate her birthday in heaven!
Well...now to decide just what I want to work on next, the wedding piece, the food piece or start something new. In meantime I'll go read some blogs. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Finally A Post

Where have I been. Well....it's been a very busy summer. Plus for a long time I couldn't stitch because of my hand which is much much better now. Then I just got busy with summer activities. Which I haven't figured out when summer came...it was a cool summer. Great for me but not so good for those who wanted it warmer.
Then my computer got struck by viruses and trojan horses and I couldn't use it for a while. If I did get to a computer it was at my brother's or my dad's. So after a month and now I doubt I will make it to 100 posts this year like I had wanted I am finally back. Now to catch up on everyone else's blogs.
This piece is boring to do but almost done now. It is the 9 Planets (yes, Pluto is there although since has been discarded as a planet.) It will go to a young boy at Love Quilts who chose In Space as theme of his quilt.
There is a lot happening at church coming up with special meetings and the lanch of our kids clubs. It use to be Adventure Club but because we are using different material this year. We're using material from New Tribes Mission we will be changing the name of the club.
I hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend. I hope to finish this piece up. Until next time Happy Stitching!

A cute piece

It's been a while since I've blogged and in the last 2 weeks I stitched maybe a whole 3 hours. My hand is really hurting and to do anything with it is painful. Finally this past week I decided to stitch a little. The wedding piece is making progress maybe early next week I'll scan it. This is a piece I did a few years ago for my mom's best friend.
Summer has finally arrived! It's in the 80's and is hot. The other day we had one wicked storm. We didn't get it so bad in our neighborhood but south of us got hit so hard. One village was totally closed for a couple of days. Yesterday we had to go through there to get our haircuts and its was bad even then. Trees down everwhere, even on top of 3 or 4 houses that we saw. What a mess! My niece lives in that area and said she finally got power back Tues.
I've been keeping busy doing odd and end things, going to my parents to stay with mom on Fridays so dad can golf. Earlier this week we met with Gleaners, (Feed America) and got our food pantry approved by them. We passed in flying colors what a relief.
I have an internet addiction. Well not quite that bad but I found these games on Facebook I can't leave alone, Farmland, Farmtown, and My Zoo. Have to check on my crops and animals often! LOL! It's keeping my mind off stitching though. Whiskers isn't too happy with it though.
Whiskers will be 17 in Oct. and is becoming my constant little companion. When I'm at the computer he's on the desk right next to the screen, when I'm in my chair he's on th arm or back of it. It's so sweet. I can tell he is getting older.
Well...I do want to try to stitch before going to the Food Pantry so until next time.....Happy Stitching.

Wedding Start

Donald Duck has been laid down for just a little bit. I needed a break from him and am doing this wedding piece for my nephew, Bryan and his wife, Chrissy who were married earlier this year. I really am enjoying this piece.
Today I went to a late birthday brunch for my niece, Christna. She turned 20 earlier this month. Tonight she is moving out and in with some friends. Not thrilled about the area she is going to live in. My brother figures she'll be back
home in a month or two. Especially since she plans to go t college in Grand Rapids it's. She's doing it one day a week and will spend 8 hours there.
I'm not sure but I think summer is finally coming. We did have low 80's earlier this week and upper 70's now. We aren't getting any of the heat other places are getting. But they'd like a little of our coolness and rain. For me it's been an ideal summer not to hot not to cold.
Well, until next time Happy Stitching.

Cats are

This piece reminded me of the cat my brother had at the time. Cleo was the sweetest cat, everyone just loved her and some friends really wanted her as their cat. She was friendly but didn't push herself on anyone. It broke our hearts when we heard she had a tumor. She lived about 6 months after the diagnosis. This piece went as a graduation quilt for an online friends daughter. She asked several of us do a cat piece and made it into a quilt.
It was another nice weekend. My brother came in from MO for a golf tournament for the camp we grew up going to. So Friday night he took my parents and I out to dinner then Saturday night we all went to a pizza place that my youngest niece works at. She was our waitress for the evening.
We finally have new steps. Our old steps were chipped and getting bad. So the apartment owners had them replaced. Only problem is the temporary steps are a joke and almost dangerous. The woodin rail shakes as you hang on to it, you feel like the steps are breaking. And the real problem. They have a plank going from our floor to the steps that is very steep. To get up it you almost have to rock and grab on to the entry way where the door was and pull yourself up and when you return go down it very carefully. Can't wait until the cememt is dry. They laid it Friday so hopefully later today or tomorrow. The inconvience of now will be worth it in the end.
Well....until next time Happy Stitching.

Another piece I did a few Years ago

I laid down the kitten and started a birth sampler for my great niece, Addie. It features Walt Disney Babies. I don't have a whole lot done and it's not the easiest piece I've ever done so I'm posting a piece I did several years ago, before I even thought about blogging.
Since it's supposibly summer time I thought I would post this cute piece. I loved doing it. If I remember right it was part of a triology in a CS magazine no longer out there. I just did this piece from it.
This past week has been fairly quiet though I haven't stitched much, 2 hours a day is about it. I have been gone a lot.
I ordered my ticket for the Gloria Gaither Conferance at Maranatha in a couple of weeks. One of my friends asked me to go with her. I like the Gaither Homecoming Friends. Only Gloria will be at the conferance though. They use to be on TV a lot but it's been a year since I've seen them and I miss that.
Well, I'll go stitch a little. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Some Progress anyway

I think I stitched more on this the past three days then what I have the whole two weeks put together. This is after about 32 hours of stitching. You can see more of the cat in there now.
Things are now back to normal. My sister is done camping and is back home so we aren't going to the camp ground so much.
Somehow I can't find my camera again so don't have any pictures. My battery went dead and I can't find the camera to replace them!
Addie was so much fun at the campground. A lot of work for her parents as she kept trying to go into the street. She got to the point where she would head for the road turn around and look back to see who was following her. Usually her parents. She's 14 months old now and is so much fun. Johnny is 2 1/2 now and was out to the campground one night. He's a little boy now. In fact Melissa is expecting a baby in Feb. and Johnny tells people "Mommy has a baby in her tummy!" Not that he knows what is going on but it's so cute. So great niece or nephew *11 is on the way. One is due in Aug. another in September. We know the one in Sept. is a boy.
Well, I'm going to my mom's and stay with her while dad is golfing. She isn't doing too well these days. So until next time Happy Stitching!

Love One Another

I haven't made a whole lot of progress on sleeping kitten so will wait a few days to post progress on that. This is a piece I did a few years ago. (Shortly before I started blogging) It was done for a quilt and I don't remember who or her circumstances. It was a special quilt put together by someone at 123 stitch is all I remember.
Speaking of Special quilts. That Patriotic Ribbon I did and posted 2 or 3 months ago has now been put on the quilt and Sue has it now. I couldn't say who it was for as she reads my blog and to see the quilt go to Sue P in my blog roll. She has it posted there. I chose it because she was born on 4th of July and new she liked Patriotic pieces.
In a few minutes I leave to have an EMG on my hand and then we are going out to the camp ground. So until next time Happy Stitching!

A Love Quilts Start

I've been stitching on this a little at a time. This is about 4 days work 10 hours. Today I'm not tuching it and probably won't touch it much the next few days as Mon-Wed. I'll be going out to the campground. Today I am going to a baby shower for my niece. This piece is called Kitten sleeping on Pillow by Jeanette Crews Designs in book Kittens. I barely have it started.
Friday I went to the craft fair down town with a friend. It was nice. I go about once every 2 or 3 years. Also we went through 3 very old homes and an old firehouse. One house was just one preserved through the years. The other two were of famous families in our city who contributed a lot to the city in late 1800'a early 1900's. The Hackley Home was more formal as they had two older children and the Hume Home was very cozy and informal. They had 7 children. I really liked that house. It was interesting to see all the furnishings and how the two families lived. It was a perfect day to go not too hot not too cold. We were down there about 6 hours. And we didn't even go into Hackley Park where the art work was.
At the craft fair I bought a baby afghan to send to my nephew Jake, and his wife, Surrayah in AL. Their baby is due in Aug. I found this cute tool box made with cloth and had tools inside all baby safe and played a song. I had to get that for Michelle's baby it was too cute. I had two baby outfits for him and will give it to her today. The toolbox she'll get today but I'll tell her it's for when he's born in Sept. or Oct He's due late Sept. day before Michelle's birthday.
Well....I better go get ready for church. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Another finish

Weatherwise is finished. I put the last stitches in earlier today. I am happy with it. Now to continue the cat piece I started.
Monday I went to zoo with my niece, Melissa and her husband and 2 year old son Johnny. We met up with my niece Heather and her 1 year old Addie. It really was a nice day and had a good time. Johnny loved seeing all the animals and Addie was a little young yet, everything was a dog to her. I'll post pictures later as I left my camera in Melissa's car so she'll give it to me Sunday. Wouldn't you know it I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted my batteries went dead! Oh well....
Sunday we are having a baby shower for my niece Michelle. She arrives in from CO later today and will be around for a week. She's expecting a baby boy end of Sept. We'll see quite abit of her Sunday through Wed.
Well I have a busy day ahead so better get going. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Another Week's Progress

I did more stitching this week and got quite a bit of progress. I do hope to finish this piece Monday or Tuesday. We'll see since the weekend will be fairly busy so I won't stitch on it much. I've been stitching on it about 4 hours a day.
I couldn't find my camera this morning but the scan got it all. (I just hope I find my camera. I really need it. I might be going to the zoo Monday or Tuesday with my nieces and their babies. Got to get pictures of Johnny and Addie! Also when we go to the campground in early July my niece will be here from OR. It's going to bug me until I find my camera. Hope I didn't throw it away by accident! I'd also like to get a picture of my cat in his favorite spot on the arm of my stitching chair. Lately he has been wanting to be close to me and follows me no matter where I go. (Unless he is sleeping under or on the bed). He will be 17 in October so guess it's a sign he's getting older and needs to be reassured he's okay and still loved.
We've had a very warm few days for us. It was 90's one day! Now mid 80's still very warm for us. It's suppose to drop to 70's Mon. & Tues. of next week. Perfect weather for going to the zoo!
Well, until next time. Happy Stitching!

Another week's progress

I still am not stitching much more then 2 hours a day because of my hand but it is making progress. I really like this piece. I also started a cat piece for Love Quilts which I will show progress on that in a few days when I'm further on it.

This week has been a very busy week with something going every day. Tomorrow I have someplace to go but I need to stay home and get some housework done this piace looks like a pig's pen right now!

We had a wicked storm last night and another one is due to come in later this afternoon, hopefully after dad and the men are done with their golf game, it is getting a little cloudy out there. I love storms at night!

The news on my hand is fair right now. I'm going to be more aggressive about taking IB Pufrin 800 mg's 3 times a day and put it on ice from time to time. If that doesn't get the swelling down then I will get an EMG on it sometime after July 13. I requested to wait until then as July 5-9 are busy, my niece will be here from CO.

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

Some progress on Sailor's Weather

Because of major problems with my hand this week I have stitched very little. Nor have I posted or replied much. I am hoping this hand brace will do much better than the first one. (The first one was starting to cut off my circulation so my mom gave me one she had.) Then my hand swelled up so I had to stop stitching and stop typing on the computer. Typing is mininimal now and stitching well.....very little and none the last 3 days. Hopefully later today I will get some stitching in.
Until next time....Happy Stitching!

A new start

Actually i started this about a week ago and laid it down to do the Baseball piece.
This piece is another one that caught my eye. I love lake scenes anyway. And yes the lake and boat will come in later. This piece is by Prairie Schooler. I haven't done one of their pieces in a long time. I am enjoying it so far.

I got my stimulus check in early May so I ordered some CS books with some of the money anyway, so yea I fell off the wagon again! I do so well, and then bang. Only this time not all the books were for Love Quilts or to do for friends. There was one I wanted for myself, and another one I planned for Love quilts but most of the planes are too big in it. Oh well....

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

Baseball Logo Finished

I want to say thank you to everyone who reads my blog time. I really apprecaite ir. Also thank you for the comments you leave. They are of great encouragement to me. Especially now with my hand hurting so much for tendernitis.

I finished this piece earlier this morning. This piece is a special project we did for a young boy at Love Quilts who is a Baseball fan. The quilt will have the logos of different teams on it.

Later this morning I'll go work in our food pantry. I don't know if anyone is coming or not usually the first two weeks of month maybe 1 or 2 people will come but most come the end of month. It is going well.

Also I've been working on the welcome center of our church. At first I was heading it up and got all the people. Then we found out a couple of the people I recruited had worked at it at their former church and really knew what they were doing so I asked for them to be in charge and I work with them. I didn't know from adam what to do or how to run it and would have relied heavily on our Pastor.

Because of my hand hurting I eill be keeping my blogs short for a while. The brace helps but typing one handed is difficult so I usually resort to using the other hand but it hurts it. Right now I have a problem as the bar hits the bump on wrist and rubs it making it worse but IB Pultrin helps a lot I'm living on them!

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

Not much is happeneing right now so this will be real short! Until next time Happy Stitching.

A Real Quick Finish

I took a brief break from Kansas City Royals to do this piece. This was a very simple piece and very quick stitch, but it caught my eye so I wanted to do it. No idea what I'm going to do with it at this point. Now back to the Baseball piece which will be done later this week.

Until next time Happy Stitching!

Another new start

I laid down The Caretaker to do this piece. The little boy took a turn for the worse and isn't doing well so we were asked to do these pieces as soon as we could. The theme of his quilt is Baseball. It has the logos of the different Baseball Teams. Not being a Baseball fan I have a very good reason for choose Kansas City Royals.....I like their colors!

I have had to restrict my stitching time. I sort of developed Tendernitis and it is painful! I finally got a brace today but still.... I actually was told by the Dr. to not stitch for 3 to 5 days. Do you think I did that! Of course not! I did stop after a couple hours a day because of the pain though. Then Sat I did something to back of my left leg and was barely walking yesterday. Today is better but I am wearing my ankle brace because of my ankle hurting for arthritis. So I was whining a lot yesterday.

Sat. we had a Women's Breakfast at church. The men do so much the women were getting jealous so decided to do a few things together. We had quite a few considering it was planned at the lasst minute.

I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend. Until next time Happy Sstitching!

A Week's Progress

Stitching on this has been very slow. Page 16 was so detailed I swear it too 100 of the 400 hours plus I worked on it. But I finally finished it over the weekend so now I have 7 of 25 pages completed, the 8th page is just shy of half done. It's an easier page. Has a lot of confetti stitching but not as much as page 16 did. The elk is more noticeable now but he's still got a long ways to go.

I have had to slow down on stitching as I have tendernitis in my left wrist. I was told not to stitch for 5 days but can't do that. I do plan to buy a brack for it tomorrow I hope.

Does anyone have plans for the long weekend? I really don't at this point. I'm going to a ladies breakfast on Saturday but that's about it.

Well....I hope all you have a Happy and safe weekened. Until next time happy Stitching!

Back to The Caretaker

Thank you for all your comments to That Clown Face. I really appreciated them.

I said I was going back to The Caretaker. I started this piece in fall of 2007 and told my brother at that time he would have it sometime between 2012 and 2020. And to be honest I think I was right. This is progress after 410 hours of stitching and I have almost 7 pages completely done on it. By the way each page is going to count as a project because of it's detail. Actually I could count it as 2 projects towards the 25 challenge. So far I haven't been tempted to buy any patterns, my will power is strong!

Well....until next time Happy Stitching!

Happy Dance That Clown is finished!!!!

I am so happy to have this piece done! After 160 and quite a bit of improvising (I'm not saying where as it didn't change the look) I am Shouting! Did you hear me shout about 8:00 this morning? It will be mailed out to Love Quilts later this week. It is going to an Any Child Circus Theme Quilt. It was due May 1 but it will still be okay as the child hasn't been named yet.

Now I am going back to The Caretaker. Remember that piece? It's my ongoing UFO for my brother. I told him he would get it sometime between 2012 and 2020. Hopefully closer to 2012!

Well-until next time Happy Stitching!

Progress on the Clown Face

I've made some progress this past week on The Clown Face. Hopefully it will be done by middle of next week. Notice I keep pushing back the finish date. I am so glad all that white is almost done.

I have gone to 3 different dinners this past week. Adding to the calories you know!May seems to be that time of year. One was a Missions dinner, the other was Volunteer Appreciation with Love Inc. (Food Pantry) and the other was Leaders Night Out. (Adventure Club Leaders). They were all good, lots of food! Later this month we have a Potluck with our SS Class.

Today is so nice and pretty out. I want to walk my brothers dog but they weren't home when I called. Maybe will later. Tomorrow is suppose to be much colder.
Oh well....

Well, until next time Happy Stitching!

Addie, Chelsea and That Clown Piece

I have to start my blog this time with Addie saying Hello to everyone. It's hard to get a picture of her smiling and in this one she is. She just turned 1 this past week and you'll see a birthday picture of her later on this blog.
Here is progress on my clown piece. This is progress after 144 hours of stitching. I really hope to get this piece done this week. It's cute but It's a lot more work than I thought it would be and I'm getting anxious to have it done.
Here is baby Chelsea. She is 3 months old now and growing. She was sick for several weeks with a bad cold and infection. She is finally over it and gives her parents lots of smiles. I wish we lived closer to her!

Addie had her first birthday this past week. I couldn't resist grabbing this picture of her. She's looking at her hands like "How did they get so messy." I love this picture of her.

Patriotic Heart & Ribbon is finished

I finished this a couple of hours ago. It really was a fun stitch.

I finally got a new keyboard. One where everything works on it and is easy to use. Seems great. My last one some of the capitals wouldn't work unless I had caps lock on.

Tonight is the last night of Adventure Club for the year so it's Carnival night. A fun night for the kids. I will miss them through the summer though this year went much to fast. I really enjoyed the 4th graders we had this year. Hmmmm maybe next year I'll try to work with 5th graders. We'll see.

My sister is coming into to town today and leaving tomorrow. Because fo the Carnival tonight and Food Pantry tomorrow I won't get to see her much this time. We might go out for lunch or breakfast.

Well, I guess I'll go back to stitching the clown although I really want to start Addie's Birth Sampler. She is going to be a year old Friday. I can't believe it.
Until next time Happy Stitching!

Patriotic Ribbon and Heart

Well.....I started another piece. I'm not forgetting the clown piece, it's 2/3 way done. But, this piece is also due May 1 and I couldn't see being late for two pieces. This is my progress after 12 hours of stitching on it. It's gong quite well and I love stitching on it.

It is such a beautiful day outside. I think our cold weather is gone for the season. It's 40's today but might reach 50 and over the weekend 70's! Wow! Hopefully spring is here to stay. I love spring season but I don't like my allergies acting up! Oh well....can't have everything!

Well, I need to run up to the store to get some ice cream topping for tonight. It's the last two weeks of Adventure Club for the season so tonight the kids get ice cream and next week is the Carnival which the love! Until next time Happy Stitching!

Back to the Clown

This is progress after 100 hours of stitching on the Clown Face. It's coming alive finally. It is a fun stitch and hopefully will be done by end of the month.

We are enjoying some nice spring like weather. It's suppose to get to mid 60's here. Then drop for a few days next week. It's still not bad though compared to a month ago 50 is great.

Well, there really isn't much to say since my last post so until next time Happy Stitching!

A Very Quick Finish

This was done in about 4 hours time and about 5 hours of pouting time! I started it at 6 am today. Was absolutely positive I had it centered right for once. Got it almost all done and discovered I used the wrong fold as the center. (The material and pattern had been sent to me as they wanted it all to be unified. I was so upset when I discovered what happened I did a lot of pouting after that as frogging was not an option nor could I redo it on different material. So I finished it off hoping they will be cutting the material down a little, they can cut at the top. I hope it will be okay. This is for a special quilt for Breanna that we are doing at CSA (a group within Love Quilts).

I just got back from walking Autumn. She gets so excited, she watches for me to come then when she sees me from her deck she gets all excited goes into the apartment and greets me at the door. After about 10 minutes she has calmed down enough to take her for her walk. It was a perfect day for a walk not too warm and not to cold.

Well, I'll go back to that clown piece tomorrow. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Chelsea's first Easter

I haad to grab this picture of Chelsea, I love it. The bunny is bigger than what she is. Actually Elaina said it was bigger then her and Josh put together. One huge bunny.

I need to get motivated to do some housework. Then I'll stitch on that clown that is taking me forever to do. Hopefully I'll make the May 1 due date but at this point I doubt it.

Until next time....Happy Stitching!

Big Bear Band is Finished

Happy Easter to everyone. I know it's a day early but I wanted to say it now since I was posting anyway. Hope you all enjoy the time with your families. I'm going to my parents house tomorrow. Which reminds me I better get the green bean caserole started.
I finished this not too long ago and it's hot off the iron now. It's such a cute piece but took forever for me to do and am happy to have it done. Now I'll work ong the clown piece for a couple of days before starting another project which will be a quick heart piece for love quilts.
Today is so beautiful outside. I took my brother's dog, Autumn out for her walk and she just enjoyed it so much. This is a perfect time of year for our walks not too hot and not too cold

Update on Big Bear Band

I picked this back up last week and probably will be done with it tomorrow or Friday for sure. It's a cute piece but been a hard one for me to get into I don't know why. But I will finish it off now.
I think Spring is finally coming to stay. I think winter had it's last Horrah for this year anyway. We lucked out of the snow storms and just got a little snow but it was cold. Now each day is suppose to warm up. I know this is short but not much is happening to write about right now. Untill next time....Happy Stitching!

Trip to MO

It's been over a week since I have blog. I just have been super busy. I haven't even stitched too much.
On Friday my parents, brother, & sister-in-law and I went to MO to see another brother and sister-in-law and their family. It was a nice time but great to be home and I can't wait to sleep in my own bed tonight.
Friday we got there and Kenn and Denise had a grilled chicken dinner for us. It was soooooo good.

Saturday we went to where my brother works and saw 4 of the Clydesdayle Horses, they are beautiful! A couple of them were out of the stable and romping around a little in a confined area. They gave us some entertainment! Then we saw some of the sites like the St. Louis Arch etc. I didn't get pictures of the arch this time as I had before. Saw the Cardinal Stadium. They were getting ready for todays Opening Ceremonies. Then we went back and stayed at the house. Caleb came over for awhile.

Then on Sunday we went to Caleb's house. It's a fixer which he is slowly but surely working on but a nice house. It will be really nice when done. Then all of us went to Josh and Elaina's and saw the biggest reason we went to MO. Chelsea Rose. She is now 2 months old and is a beautiful baby! Right now she seems to look like Josh.
I will post progress on stitching tomorrow or Wed. But right now I just wanted to post some pictures of Chelsea.
